opie and openzaurus aren\'t Qtopia based ROMs as your cacko\'s rom ... if you absolutely want to use OZ/Opie apps you should think about installing OpenZaurus instead of Cacko
SL-C3000 - pdaXrom 1.1.0Beta1
SL-C860 - pdaXrom 1.1.0 RC8 (charging circuitry dead :( )
CF RamStar 512 Mb / Hitachi 4Gb microdrive (thanks to creative's muvo² :p)
SD Sandisk 1Gb / Viking 256 Mb
Linksys WCF13 CF wifi card

Anyone willing to donate for my work, please consider donate to pdaXrom and/or OE/OZ projects instead, I wouldn't have been able to do anything without them ...

However i\'ve been looking at the IPK files in a text editor, all the files that wont install start with something like \"debian-binary\" while the ones that seem to work, dont start with this.

GM -

If the VERY first bytes of the IPK were \"/debian-binary\" then you might have a plain TAR file. Check and see if there is \"ustar\" a little further down in the file. OR see if tar can recognize the file (you may have to change the suffix to tar for this test).

Sweet, got it in, everything works, got all my programs installing fine now.  I quite like OZ seems to work for me anyways, tho i still prefer the Cacko GUI.

Anyways, thanks everyone for all the help!

Hi,
all of you should be very aware using external power. I dont have a c860 but have read lot about distroyed Chargingunits in the Zauri, by using cheap 5v adaptors. Please search in the forum, so you may find which adaptor is sure to be used or just ry to buy an adaptor from the Z Models that are provided in your country by sharp. The Adaptor from the 5500 Series for example should work with the c Series too.
Cheers,
Sam

Keep in mind the qualifiers \"decent & regulated\".

Here\'s what it takes to create a clean, reliable 5 volt, 1 amp power supply -don\'t blink or you\'ll miss it!

http://www.hut.fi/Misc/Electronics/circuit...its/psu_5v.html

Probably less than a dollar in parts.

Which gets me to thinking, take one of those RC car battery packs that you have laying around (well, that I do anyways), the Molex connector that fits it, a LM7805, a couple of caps, and the same plug as the Z uses and you would have a nice little 5 volt charger that you could use if you weren\'t able to plug into AC.

(The six cell pack should come close to fully charging a Z with the 1700ma battery).

And since the LM7805 is internally current-limited to 1 amp there wouldn\'t be a problem there.

Or, attach a cigarette lighter plug to it and you have a car charger. You could probably fit all of the pieces into the cig socket and just have the tail sticking out (you probaly could get one of these at Rat Shack as well, but I think that they are designed for 6 & 9 volts)

I\'ll try it out (on my 5500 first of course) and let you guys know how it goes.

And I have seen where you can use the CE-BC21 to charge the EA-BL08 if you cut the tab off of the battery (or drill a hole in the charger). Has anyone tried this?
