Kismet loads but can\'t find any wifi networks.

I am running the sharp rom 3.10 on an sl5500.  I installed kismet and the kismet qt gui.
Is there any additional software that I need to install in order to make kismet work?

I load kismet from a command prompt as root and I get no errors.  Then I run the kismet gui program and it loads just fine.  However, for some reason, I can\'t detect any networks.  When I load the gui, the light starts flashing on my linksys wfc11 cf card.  Any suggestions?

I think this depends more on the version of Kismet you are trying to run. I also had bus errors with the most recent ARM version from Kismetwireless:

However rolling back to an earlier version (3.01 I think), it works fine. There\'s a link on the Kismet SL-6000 How to:

Thnaks for the info. The Bus error is gone by going back to kismet 3.01. Still working on the config. I think i\'m very close. Finger s crossed!

Ok, i got it working but had to use \"source = prism2_legacy,....\" in kismet.conf;
i guess this is without pcap support.

Pcap- 0.7.2 is installed.

Also Kismet does not work on the command line, yet kismet_qt works ....Strange ...

What drivers are others using in Kismet?

I have the same problem too.  Gui works, but command line doesnt.

The default kismet script launches kismet_client too soon, i.e. before kismet_server is ready to connect.

edit the \"kismet\" shell script and add a sleep 5  (or such) between the server and client starter sections.

Are you getting it to sniff in promiscuis mode?
