QTopia default Calendar app Slow or Non-Responsive...
« on: May 22, 2004, 04:00:28 pm »
I\'ve put all of my events into the Calendar application that came with my SL-C860 QTopia (Dynamism translated) OS.  For about 5 minutes before a scheduled alarm sounds the enitre linux OS becomes very slow or non-responsive.  Then the alarm sounds, I close it, and then the OS behaves normally again.  When I open the Calendar app directly it takes a long time to load and is extremely slow or non-responsive.

Does it have to do with the amount of information I have in the Calendar application?  Is the calendar app inneffecient with scheduled tasks?  Has anyone else experienced this too?  Is another application recommended instead?... keeping in mind that I will likely have every workday hour filled in with appointments?

Thanks in advance!

What?  No comments?  Does anyone else have this problem?  Is there a solution?  Is there a better application to use?

Tried Ko/Pi?
I just don\'t use PIM stuff too much so I can\'t say I\'ve noticed a problem to be honest. Try Ko/Pi, you can use it in conjunction with the built in PIMs and it is a desktop app ported so it may not have a problem with large numbers of appointments.

Also check if Calendar is still marked as a fast loading app.
Left Linux and Linux PDAs... sorry, got boring.  Switched to Mac.

It isn\'t.

I suspect the Calendar app has an inefficient argolythm to search through the appointments to find the ones coming up next.  I\'ll take a look at Ko/Pi.  Thanks.
