tcp/ip over usb xp
« on: July 05, 2004, 04:05:09 am »
The ZUG howto link that explains tcp/ip over xp is not working for me, so I can't check it out.  Anybody know of a good alternate link to this information?  When I try to change from USB/IO to USB TC/IP in Zaurus Manager of my XP box, (sl5500, Sharp 3.1 ROM), I get dialogue box that says I have to go to Device Manager and 'Enable SL Series V3' - but that doesn't appear in Networking of my XP box's Device Manager.

I hadn't installed the drivers properly on the XP machine.  Now I'm almost there, I can synch tcp/ip over usb, and see packets going back and forth in the network connections status, except that when I open opera 6 I get a little box with 'Network Offline' and a connect button.  There is a drop-down list that should probably show my lan-tcp/ip connection, but instead there's nothing.  ?

there is a topic somewhere in the forums about netfront and this problem. There were two solutions, one a simple command line one to tell qtopia that the network is up. have a look around here...
Gorgeous C860, 256 Sandisk SD, 1Gig Pretec 40x CF, PDAIR leather case & the really cool retractable iPDA USB sync/charge cable. Powered by PDAXROM BETA 1.

My wish - to have a Command & Conquer style game on my Z! (FREECNC!!!) Simcity 2000 would also be great.

Thanks, I found that reference, tried to install that .ipk but installed it to my CF instead of internal and now i can't uninstall it!  I should note that in Network of the Zaurus, if I click on the Current tab, it says No available service.  I can't seem to save the network settings there.  Still not working, but still synching OK

Hmmm so while my 5600 is in the docking station and hooked up to the computer via usb of course,  It can access the net through that?  if so can you tell me where you found the info or if its simple tell me how you did it.  b/c i was curious if it can be done.
