Hi all,

I have read in a couple Zaurus reviews that there is an IPsec VPN client built into the network control panel of the C-860.

I have an SL-6000, which has no such client, but I am interested in getting one. Specifically I am interested in logging into a NortelNetworks Contivity IPSec gateway.

Is there an IPK for the C-860 VPN client?

I called Apani regarding the beta version of the Contivity client for Zaurus. They informed me that the packages are no longer available and no further development will be taking place. It is pretty sad as I also use these VPN's at my work. You can supposedly get freeswan to work, but you need to have some knowledge of how the VPN is setup.

Yeah, it is a bit of a bummer not being able to get on the wireless network here at work. Fortunately the wired ports (available in the conference rooms) do not require a Contivity client.

Has anyone gotten ipsec VPN working on their clamshell yet? I need to connect to Checkpoint Firewall-NG.

I just received my C860 in the mail today, and I'm not sure which ROM i'll end up using (probably cacko at first). I'm willing to try to build an ipsec client if anyone knows of software that would be easy to port/build.

Personally I'm trying to do ipsec to Checkpoint Firewall-NG.

I could certainly use an IPSEC VPN client for any zaurus.

I bought a 6000, and it doesn't have IPSEC in it, and it looks like getting it to work could be rough. I read that the 860 has an IPSEC client.

Obscurite, can you confirm or deny the 860 vpn client exists? What are the options in it?

I read that the 760 and 860 are the same thing except for USB Hard Drive. Does that mean that the 860 vpn client would run on a 760?
I will be buying 10 or 15 of these to supply to remote technicians to provide batched daily invoicing, but I already made the decision to not allow any remote access unless it came in over IPSEC (which while it seems secure, certainly isn't a commonplace practice, and can be extremely limiting).

I would buy any model that can be confirmed that I a vpn client can be added to it.

There's a VPN tab in the (Cacko 1.21b) network app for ipsec, but I haven't played with it yet.

Can anyone confirm there is working built-in VPN functionality in Cacko/Sharp??
