new sony T630 IRDA C860
« on: July 18, 2004, 11:40:12 am »
Hi

Just acquired this phone Sony T630.
I am wondering wether to return it as I cannot get any contact with my C860 over IRDA.
I have the original sharp Rom1.10.

Is there any way I could get this to work?

Is there a more compatible phone someone could recommend?

Not got a T630, but sounds like you are having the same problem as those with T610 and T68i phones.

If you like the phone, then you might want to consider getting bluetooth for the Zaurus and doing it that way.

FYI I could transfer contacts to and from my T610 (with IR, C750, cacko ROM), pictures didn't work though (which is a shame).

Just as a heads-up:

Transferring files(including pictures) between my C860 and Nokia 6600 works fine.

Cheers!

Omicron, turn beam recieve on the zaurus under settings. Beam from phone.

hold on a file in file manager and select beam file... will beam files to somewhere else (like my girls palmvx).

My wish - to have a Command & Conquer style game on my Z! (FREECNC!!!) Simcity 2000 would also be great.

Is it possible to recompile the kernel to an earlier version to fix the IrDA dialup problem with ericsson phones? What disadvantages will there be in using an older kernel?

I have the same problem since i'd installed  patch 1.21.b
Irda connetion is very unstable, sometimes i have to try 10 time to connect to siemens s55 also nokia 6610 doesn't want to connet to (laptop connects without problem but when i transfer large file > 500 kb connections are alway going to be broken)
