Screen blanking problems
« on: August 21, 2004, 03:50:56 pm »
The other day i was listening to tunes on my zaurus for a while. Then i unplugged the RC/headphones from the Z, but after a few minutes the screen turned off, and i couldn't get it to come back on until i plugged it in, whereupon it magically comes back. This continues to be the case. Does anyone have a solution? thanks

To sum up:

I'm using the Cacko ROM
As long as the Z is plugged in, the screen stays on.
As soon as i unplug it, it will blank.
After a while, it will come back, until i tap the screen or push a button. Then it blanks again for about 30 seconds.
I rebooted, and it still does this.
It's driving me nuts!

It will sit there on until i tap it, and then it skedaddles.

This Z is pretty much worthless for me as is.  Considering i bought it less than three weeks ago, that's a poor return on investment.  Would someone please tell me (or point me to) instructions on how to do the equivalent of a "hard reset" on a Palm.  Since rebooting doesn't help, i think that's the only way i'm going to get this back in working order, without some kind of help.

Thanks

Search the forums for "disabling screensaver" or "disabling suspend"

Wow, it's all in knowing what it is you're looking for.

Check out this thread, anyone who's having problems with this kind of behavior.

All i did was push fn+brightness up (4) this time when it happened, and it came back for me and stayed.  Whew, i'm glad it's just a software problem.

Thanks Foxdie
