Devnet corruption?
« on: August 29, 2004, 08:04:15 am »
I was looking for a bit of a post which I know exists in here:

http://www.zaurus.com/dev/board/index.php?...topic=3250&st=0

But couldn't find it.

Take a look at this page:

http://www.zaurus.com/dev/board/index.php?...opic=3250&st=17

Specifcally the posts by drboom - pretty easy to spot; then use the page links at the bottom - it doesn't show up (not for me anyway). I thought I was going mad until I tried the search function and discovered that it was actually there.

So then I tried manually changing the '&st=' number; I assume this says which post to start at, but it doesn't actually work that way - I've stepped through from 0-15 and the pages just turn up at random.

Any suggestions, or am I really going mad ;-)?

Cheers,

Si

I see it, but I rarely use the devnet site anyore.  The lack of traffic there might be a reason why there hasn't been a response.
I'm now an iphone user and use my zaurii as serial terminals, perl and shell scripting and when I need 640x480 screens

Same here, but there is a lot of interesting stuff on there.

A fair few of the questions people come out with have been answered there (and a long while back). That was my reason for the search there; I knew what was supposed to be there, but it wasn't appearing.

Never mind.

Oh. I'm using Firefox on XP, I definitely can't access the long post by drboom unless I manually type in the address - the next page link at the bottom (starting from the top link I gave) doesn't ever show it.

Possibly time to go back to IE then...

Si -

Using Opera under Win98, opened both the links below in new pages.

First noticed that the header of the first link had the pg 1 of 5 bracketed where the 2nd did not.

<< Specifcally the posts by drboom - pretty easy to spot; then use the page links at the bottom - it doesn't show up (not for me anyway). I thought I was going mad until I tried the search function and discovered that it was actually there.

Stepping through by date of post, found that the first post in the 2nd link is about half way down the page 2 of the first link. From there on, they appear the same.

Clicking on page # 1, 2, etc on link 1 & on link 2 headers (or footers) brought up identical pages for both.

Looks to me like link #2 jumps INTO the middle of page #2 of link #1.

Help any??

At least I know I'm not going mad :-)

Something for people to bear in mind when searching the devnet for info I suppose.
