Hi,

About configuration settings saving in ka/pi. I noticed it only is saving the changes when pressing the OK button in the lower right of the screen.
So NOT the one in the top right that is part of the windowing system.

Please verify so that zautrix is able to fix this...

Everything else seems ok.. except maybe a small translation error?
In ka/pi it says emport (instead of export?).

Thanks for this new version though!

-Roy
Ah!

That was the problem.

Fixed both - thx for your help!

QLibrary open failed!: /home/QTPalmtop/lib/libmicrokabc_qtopia.so, libqpepim.so.1: cannot load shared object file: No such file or directory  (this message appears 3 times)
KLibrary: The library microkabc_qtopia does not offer an init_microkabc_qtopia function
KRES::factory::resource(): Factory creation failed for library microkabc_qtopia
Please, give me some help with this ...

I do have the file
/home/QTPalmtop/lib/libmicrokabc_qtopia.so
which is a link to /home/QTPalmtop/lib/libmicrokabc_qtopia.so.1.0.0, but I don't have the file /home/QTPalmtop/lib/libqpepim.so.1, so I guess this is (part of) the problem. If so, where can I get this file? I'm using a 760 with TKCrom.

holck, your configuration looks like mine, but I don't have this problem, even though I don't have libqpepim.so.1 either. Are you using version 1.9.5a of KDE-Pim? If not, try backing up your data, uninstalling everything to do with KDE-Pim that is an earlier version, and upgrading to 1.9.5a (except for the alarm applet, which should be 1.9.4).

Even if you think that you are using 1.9.5a, you may have forgotten to upgrade one of the packages. I suggest that you double-check carefully.

Hope that this helps,
P.

Hi,
i doublechecked it again, but the sizing of the settings dialog is sub-optimal.
In landscape-mode the button row is hidden behind the system task bar.
In portrait-mode they're perfectly visible and you can see a lot of unused space above the checkboxes.
On the other hand the columns on the contact-tab are misproportioned in portrait-mode only, they're perfect in landscape.
The left column, with the listbox where youre supposed to read pre-/postfixes, is so ridiculously tiny and then with scrollbars, you've got to read the entry letter by letter. (Ok that's a bit of an exaggeration)

I haven't figured out yet, what the extensions dialog is for. Can you give me a hint?

I haven't tried kammu yet, so nothing there.

Keep on the good work.

Hi,

I am currently using 1.9.5. version (not the updated ones... sorry cannot seem to keep up with them  ) And I have a question about syncing ko/pi.
When a add an entry to my korganizer on my kde desktop machine (using kde version 3.3) and sync with ko/pi I seem to loose this newly added entry.

Is this a known problem or am I doing something wrong here?

Thanks for your help...

You will find the answer in the sync howto in the help menu:
NOTE:
YOU MAY GET UNEXSPECTED (I.E. WRONG) SYNCHRONIZATION RESULTS,
IF YOU CHANGE AN EVENT ON THE FIRST DEVICE AND SYNC IMMEDIATELY FROM
THE OTHER DEVICE WITH THIS DEVICE, IF THE CLOCKS OF THE TWO DEVICES
HAVE TOO MUCH DIFFERENCE.

Solution:
Set the time settings on the devices to the same time..

Zautrix,
you're fixing the bugs faster then we can find them,
I'm really impressed.
I've just downloaded 1.9.5b and installed it. Looks fine so far. Closer testing and report will follow tomorrow.

Hmmm.. I am the one to blame here. I made a typo in the scp command from my desktop to my zaurus

But can it be a good idea to use the following fields:
desktop location (textfield, for example: /home/zaurususer/.kde/share/apps/korganizer/std.ics)
zaurus location: (textfield, for example /tmp/mycalendar.ics)
user: (textfield, for example zaurususer)
type: ftp/scp (radiobutton?)

This way it is a lot easier to configure imho.

Please let me know what you think.

Yep. Config. file works fine now.

Not much left to do in the addressbook itself (imho). Just the sync.

I'm allmost content now. IMO the're only few things left to fix:
tochiness of file menu in kapi
sizing of config box in kapi
speed of ompi

kopi ist next to perfect by now.

Is that "Next to Perfect" because nothing can ever be perfect or because there is something that could be improved

Just one problem I've found with KA/Pi that I haven't seen reported elsewhere, so maybe I'm misunderstanding it ...

Look&Feel->Row Separator

If I change this to "Alternating backgrounds" or "Single line", there is no change to the main view window (Family Name and Given Name are my chosen fields).

Other than that, great! My geek dream would be integration with qpegps to pull out the geo dat from the address book and direct you there!

I agree with the general sentiment about KO/Pi. It's great.

KA/Pi still needs some work (i.e. in 1.9.4 it didn't start from the icon -- I haven't tried 1.9.5 yet), but looks like it'll be great when finished.

Similar, OM/Pi still needs a little work.

On the whole, are KO/Pi and KA/Pi capable of receiving beamed contacts/calendars by default? I've heard that this doesn't work...

Also... The whole package is just a little too large to be convenient... About 8 MB for the full install. It's just not real practical. Any way to slim this down (would also help with the fast load)?
Sorry. I just don't have the time...

You can beam out practicaly anything, but beaming in is a bit problematic.

It was receiving (beaming in) that I was referring to.
