Forgive me if this is an elementary question, but where did you get the Mac OS X-esque icons, and how do you use them on the Z?

I got them from Mac OS X itself And also quite a few from xicons.com. Installing them is pretty easy, and I'm kind of kicking myself for not doing it sooner.
Take the icon you want and drag it into [a href=\"http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/12307]Pixadex[/url]. Then select it in Pixadex and export it as a .PNG -- I've found a resolution of 48 pixels works best on my 6000. Name it something memorable.
FTP over to the folder "home/QtPalmtop/pics/" on your Z; or you can use the Z's own Filemanager run in root mode and transfer the files from somewhere else like an SD card. Drag and drop the new PNG icon files in there.
Go to the "Tab Setting" customization application on your Z. Select an app to edit, click on its icon, wait while it loads the picture library, and then assign your preferred icon to it. It will display in red to mark the change. Exit the app and you're done.
Of course, you could always figure out what the Qtopia icon files are called and then replace them with your own icons of the same name, but I always like to be able to undo my tinkering if necessary.
To maybe make things easier for you, I've uploaded the icons I used on my Z to my iDisk. Click
here and then download the macZicons.zip file under the Zaurus rubric. That'll cut out the first few steps.
These icons are high-quality and aren't size optimized, so if you were to dump them all into "pics" they'll eat up about 500K on your internal memory. Personally, I'd rather that than symlink all of them to SD. If you find a way to symlink an entire folder from the pics folder (my attempts failed), please let me know how to do it.
