Book comments (no spoilers):

I cannot see a better way to spend $12.95 than on a great mystery/ adventure/ spy/ thriller novel!  I loved the fact that Duncan had an SL-5500!  I love my 5500, and it's cool to now have a fiction work based on it.  I also loved the plot twists and decriptions...especially of the hacking techniques.  Way better than the Net or even Sneakers.  If (the author) got the funding for a movie, I'd definitely be keen on it.  I'd love to see Kurt Russell as Duncan and Lucy Liu as Lin!  Perhaps Atkins (his arch-nemisis) could be played by someone real mean and crazy like Jesse Ventura...or is he still busy running Minnesota?  HA!

The only technical flaw I saw was that when Duncan was on the run for a few days and using his Z.  Where did he charge it?  I must have to assume he some kind of portable charger.  <grin>  Anyway, great story and thank you for sharing it with the ZaurusUsersGroup!

I am in the process of moving and giving away/ keeping a bunch of books that I don't want to move or would never read again.  This book is staying on my shelf and I hope to turn other Zaurus owners and lovers of technology/ fiction on to this well written novel.

P.S. I really liked the novel "Takedown" and it's website to go along with this non-fiction story of the arch hacker Kevin Mitnick.  http://www.takedown.com/  If you enjoyed the fiction novel Z4CK, then you may enjoy this non-fiction work as well!

P.P.S. Where can I download Z4CK.source???  Perhaps we should post a request in the "User Requests for Applications" forum???  HA!

Hmmm, it looks like I'll definitely have to pick this up.  I've been meaning too for a while now.

You liked Takedown?  Did you also read The Fugitive Game?  You can't read one without the other. :-)  It's like they're both orthogonal to the truth, but it's interesting to see how the same actions are viewed from two different vantage points.

Did you read ``@ Large'' ?

http://www.reed.edu/~gronkep/webofpolitics...el-atlarge.html

also, telnet takedown.com 4001 through like 4022 or so...  enjoy.  hehe, do you remember when takdown.com was hijacked and rediected to takendown.com.

Oh man... if the kiddies only put 1/2 the effort into building things instead of destroying them, we night have some pretty neat tech/toys :->

The fugitive game and @ large, I'll check 'em out.  I heard about taken down but never saw it.  I have seen the telnet toys that he put up there that is a neat addition when you are reading takedown.

Wow! My college network is going to let me POST today!

I bought it in pdf and book. XD

I'm sure I introduced myself as "Graham" not "Ferret" though.

Everyone who'se seen it on my desk has thought it hilarious that I actually have a book signed to "Ferret Simpson" though.

The only problem, is that QPDF/QPDF2 displayed the book really badly on my SharpR Poodle (Yeah, not on OZ for a while yet I don't think. I need my instant access GPRS XD) So I ended up reading it on a Clie. Yes, I'm sick twisted and evil.

Wait, I should order a PDA watch! Theoretically, it should be possible to boot ucLinux on it as it's a PALMOS 4.1 DB66 system. . . Further Geekdom here I come. . . .

Looking forward to the next!
