Cacko on the C3000
« on: November 18, 2004, 08:12:41 am »
Hi,

I want a C3000, but after using a C860 with Cacko on it I don't really want to make the move until we can get it on the C3000.

The best way for this to become a reality is to support maslovsky's work so he can get a C3000 to develop with.

There is a donation link on his site and can I suggest anyone who really would like this to happen (or anyone with other C series who use Cacko regularly) chips in a few bucks.

http://www.my-zaurus.narod.ru/cacko.html

I've thrown $20 in the pot to get things rolling.

I have no connections with maslovsky, just a happy user of his work!

Cheers
Marc

ArchiMark has thrown in $20 too.

(all less nasty Paypal fees of course)

Might be worth anyone who is donating to post here so we see if there is any hope?!

I am not sure that Maslovsky committed to buying a C3000 if we raised the money... did he?

Personally, I sent him 50 bucks a few days ago for his great work on the upcoming Mplayer and the new Cacko ROM.  I encourage you to support him, but unless you get a firm commitment from him to buy a c3000, I think you are better off raising the money yourself and shipping him a C3000.

my 2 cents,

Emerika

It is true, he hasn't commited to buying a C3000.

I just thought people are more likely to send money to him than they are to me as few here know who I am!

HOWEVER I am happy to collect cash and buy a C3000 for him. I regularly import Zaurus for UK users and am uczmeg on eBay and avforums.com if you need two very positive feedback profiles!

If this is a better approach then people can use:

uczmeg@hotmail.com  for paypal from a balance (no fees for me, which means more in the pot).

marc@countinghouse.co.uk for credit card payments.

Please state that it is for the Cacko fund.

But as you say, if any of us use any of the ROMs then ALL the developers on here deserve our support! I'm just championing Cacko as it is my ROM of choice....

Cheers
Marc

While Maslovsky didn't make a hard promise, he did indicate in the other forum section that he'd probably get one if he had the $$....and that if he had one the chances would be good for him to modify Cacko ROM to support the 3000.

Hence, my contribution and uczmeg's  to the cause....

I really think that $20 is a small price to pay, given all that Maslovsky's done for the Z community without requiring money in return.

Just my 2¢.....

Mark
Hoping for Cacko(3000 version)....
