taking apart 860 - question
« on: November 21, 2004, 12:26:53 pm »
something is messed up in the sd slot on my 860.  I need to take it apart, but after removing all of the screens I can see ( 7 of them ), it doesn't come apart.

It seems like something has to be released at the front edge near the cancel / ok button, but I can't see any tab or anything there.

There also seems to be a trick of some kind near the earphone jack

Has anyone taken one of these apart?  What should I look for?

EDIT - NEVER MIND - I GOT IT

Could you post the steps you took to disassemble the Z?

I took my display half of the clamshell apart to reseat some flaky connectors. Two screws on the sides & four underneath (two on each side) then the cover seperated easily. Just don't loose the tiny screws!

Reseating the connectors completely fixed my intermittant backlight problem. Which Sharp was "unable to duplicate despite having the unit for months, BTW.

When I get the time, I'll do it again & take pictures to post.
