Accessories / Buy Zaurus Accessories In Tokyo
« on: September 06, 2009, 07:06:00 pm »
I'm going to Tokyo in two weeks and would like to get some accessories for my Zaurus C1000 there, especially a spare battery, a CF GPS card and maybe a CF Ethernet adaptor (used or new) - can anybody indicate a good shop for those items? Thanks in advance, Hannes

Sharp ROMs / Mobilemap On C1000?
« on: September 01, 2009, 11:49:41 am »
I'm going to Japan in a few weeks and was wondering if any C3100 owner would be willing to provide me with the necessary files to try MobileMap on my C1000, if this is at all possible?

Sharp ROMs / Tomotko And Japanese Input Method
« on: August 31, 2009, 08:53:44 pm »
Thanks for the quick answer. I experimented a little more and the solution was so simple it almost makes me blush... After inserting the japanese text I just clicked in the next input field, which, as soon as I was writing, made the japanese text disappear. I found out that this doesnt't happen if I press Enter before switching input fields.... Merci quand-même de la réponse et un grand merci pour votre logiciel excellent!

Sharp ROMs / Tomotko And Japanese Input Method
« on: August 31, 2009, 05:40:35 pm »
I'm using Cacko lite 1.23 with japanese-support-C1k installed for the japanese input methods. I seem to have a problem creating flashcards in toMOTko with one side in japanese and the other side in english - after inserting japanese text I close the virtual keyboard to input english via the real keyboard and the japanese text disappears. I guess I must be doing something wrong...
Also, is there some documentation about the japanese input methods? I'm still in the early stage of learning hiragana and katakana, but I would to know how to use them better.

Debian / Maxpower And Kernel Config
« on: December 21, 2008, 05:08:05 pm »
In Cacko I have no problem using usb devices which need up to 500 mA with my SL-C1000, but certain drivers (e.g. for usb wifi cards) are not available for kernel 2.4. On the other hand, in kernel 2.6 we have all the up-to-date drivers, but due to more restrictive power management we can't use hardware that requests more than 150 mA from the usb bus without a powered hub. Seemingly the 150 mA is a kernel limit, not a hardware limit, so it should be possible to recompile the kernel changing certain options (which ones?) to get 500 mA from the usb bus?

Sharp ROMs / Any Hope For Usb Lan/wifi Adapters On Cacko?
« on: September 23, 2008, 01:21:52 pm »
Thank you very much for putting me on the right track, pelrun! Talking of the zd1211b, I had already added the usb ids to zdusb.h, but didn't realize they also needed to be in zdusb.c. Now the module loads automatically when I insert the wifi adapter, and I get an interface wlan0! Now, I'll give my AX88178 Usb-ethernet adapter a try ...

Sharp ROMs / Any Hope For Usb Lan/wifi Adapters On Cacko?
« on: September 22, 2008, 07:58:35 pm »
Hello,
I have recently spent quite some time google-ing and trying to get the following usb-adapters to work on my C1000 with Cacko:

     - an Asus WL-167G wifi stick, uses the rt73-kernel module, found instructions and source for the driver, but couldn't compile
it (I'm using eviljazz's kernel and his source tree, and Meanie's zgcc-2.95.2, big thanks to both of them!)
     - a Zyxel G-202, managed to compile the zd1211b driver from the sources found on
http://ldrolez.free.fr/software/zauruscode/, but "device is not claimed by any active driver"
     - an Usb-ethernet adapter using the AX88178 Chip, which might or might not be supported by the usbnet-driver, could not
find out for sure - drivers available from Asix only for 2.6.x, - dmesg says once more "device is not claimed by any active
       driver"       .

I'd be happy if somebody could give me a hint on any of these devices, even if it is "give it up, it doesn't work" (at least I stop wasting time   ) - but then, what does work? I could not find a comprehensive list of compatible usb-devices for Cacko/Sharp Rom anywhere.

Sharp ROMs / No Network Wizard For Cacko 1.23
« on: August 25, 2008, 05:23:33 am »
Check [a href=\'index.php?showtopic=18114\']here[/a] for information about the internet wizard. To configure any network interface, choose the type of interface first (in your case Wireless LAN Card), click "Add" and configure your settings - then you should be able to connect.

Sharp ROMs / Looking For Zcalc And Zoutline Ipks
« on: August 14, 2008, 04:37:07 am »
Hi, does anybody by any chance have an archived copy of zcalc and/or zoutline? It seems like they can't be found on the net anymore and as I'm evaluating various alternatives for the programs I need, I would like to give them a try.

OpenZaurus/Opie/Qtopia / Python-webbrowser And Python-gettext?

Can anybody tell me if the python-webbrowser and python-gettext modules are "hidden" somewhere in the python feed of OZ?

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Mirror Of Openzaurus.org?
« on: April 20, 2007, 08:23:30 am »
You can do this by recursively downloading the feed for your version of OZ from www.openzaurus.org/download (don't know if makes them happy, though...), put it on a sd or cf card and modify the feeds listed in /etc/ipkg.conf to point to file:///media/card (or cf)/path/to/feeds, run ipkg update and you're ready to go

Linux Applications / Grisbi Window Size
« on: April 17, 2007, 01:41:17 pm »
I managed to compile grisbi (a personal finance manager) onboard on my SL-C1000 with OZ 3.5.4.1 installed. The problem is that the windows are too big for the screen (apart from the main window, whose size I can set in .grisbirc). Is there any way to limit the window size? The application uses gtk+.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Keyboard Not Working
« on: April 15, 2007, 03:52:01 pm »
I have the latest Hentges/GPE-Rom installed on my C1000. To get the "best of both worlds" I installed all the task-opie-base* packages with their dependencies from the 3.5.4.1 feeds  to /home and ipkg-linked them. Unfortunately, the hardware keyboard does not work in any program. What am I missing? Any ideas?

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Active Tasks Folder
« on: March 30, 2007, 05:55:12 am »
I'm using the gpe/fluxbox rom from hentges.net and would like to get rid of the "active tasks" folder on the desktop, as fluxbox contains a tasklist. Can anybody give me a hint please?
