Security and Networking / Using Z As Proxy

Well, I am able to do this by tunneling to the Z and using localhost as my proxy, but I was actually hoping that I could use the USB IP (192.168.129.201) as my proxy rather than having to tunnel to it. So if anyone has any suggestions, I would be happy to hear them.

I have a stock SL5500 standard Sharp OS, upgraded to the latest.

Here is the scenario:

2 network connections:

[blockquote]A. Corp firewalled
B. Wireless LAN (Open) similar to starbucks etc.[/blockquote]

1 PC (behind corp firewall A)
1 Zaurus with WLan CF card (connected to Wifi

What I would like to do is to use the Zaurus as a proxy via the USB cradle sidestepping the firewall. Yes, I know I could simply ssh tunnel, but all of that traffic is monitored and WiFi B is not monitored so that would be my preference.

ideas?

I'm not sure if you are experiencing the same thing I was but I was confused at first and thought that it was not working. I have the same card and Z. When you put the card in, a little "globe" will show up on the taskbar along with the 'CF" icon. Click the globe and then click 'connect' and you should be good to go.

When I read my yahoo mail in Opera, I can't press any of the web-based buttons thus eliminating my ability to delete unwanted spam   Has anyone else experienced this and, more importantly, fixed it?

Well I never got this working but I found a nice alternative in the form of a java-based scanner called jportscan and it works quite nicely. Java applications run great on the Z and appear to take up less space. I think I'll go out try to find a bunch of java apps now

I forgot to mention that I tested the scanning with both a wireless and wired ethernet card and got the same results.

Well I got nmap installed and running, but I am running into a couple of problems. Firstly, and this is probably a non-issue, it keep complaining that it can't find nmap-services. Secondly, I can scan the Z itself using 127.0.0.1 or it's assigned address from the router, but I cannot scan any other computer on the network. I can ping them and I can even mount shares that are on them but a scan returns that the address is down or not accepting ping requests. I can scan all of the computers from each other but not from the Z. Any ideas?

Is it possible to play java-based games in the Opera browser? For example, I would like to be able to play some of my favorite Yahoo games. When I attempt to run any of them (i.e. yahoo gin, yahoo towers) I just get a blank screen with the yahoo banner at the top saying (loading applet.. please wait 3 minutes)
