OpenBSD / Help Me Put My Old Z To Use Again!
« on: April 12, 2014, 04:42:04 am »
No way! I'm wanting to put my z back to use too.

Of course I forgot my root password too. Can you remind me to reset that?

Thanks.

Edit: I am using cacko "katherine".

i use my z constantly for ad-hoc hacking
just writing little scripts in perl, ruby, c
everthing became clear when i installed native gcc (and removed java)
favorite apps include tilem, mathomatic, driftnet, snes9x, flite ...

i'm just amazed how much use z gets after 7 years

might finally be a worthy replacement for my C860

i consider snes9x to be one of the killer z apps ...

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Promiscuous Mode
« on: November 17, 2009, 03:10:59 pm »
I am having difficulty putting my wireless interface into promiscuous mode. ifconfig says that it is, but I cannot gather packets not to/from the z. I compiled my own libpcap but this didn't work so I reverted to an ipk that I seem to recall working (but am now doubting my memory).

I have tried with ethereal, driftnet, tcpdump, my own code using libpcap - nothing. Kismet functions correctly but this isn't quite the same thing.

I'm not sure if the problem is my kernel, libpcap, wifi card or something else.

My setup is:
pdaXrom 1.1.0beta1 "Katherin"
Linksys WCF12 802.11b
libpcap 0.9.8-devel  from capn_fish
SL-C860

Any suggestions appreciated. THanks.

Just like to say I love the z. my only real unix box at this point ...

switching to the hostap driver solved it.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / hostap channel hop broken ?
« on: June 07, 2005, 04:34:10 am »
Has anyone successfully determined WEP keys using the WCF12 + kismet + airsnort/dwepcrack ?

I keep getting "no valid packets" error. Suspect it has to do with the fact that i am using the orinoco driver.

Has anyone been able to successfully determine WEP keys based on packet dumps from Kismet? I am getting "no valid packets" error from bsdairtools/dwepcrack, but have yet to try airsnort.

I am using a Linksys WCF12 CF card and the orinoco driver (which could well be the problem).

I thought it was an X11 thing.

Code: [Select]
# ssh root@z kill -9 Xwould salvage the mess, otherwise i did the old battery pull.

It happens to me so consistently for a suspend of any duration that now I always kill X beforehand.

I don't think that games using the SuperFX chip (eg: StarFox) function on snes9x.

Other games take while to start. For example Mario Kart.

i love showing my z+snes9x off to gameboy sp/adv users: same games plus more and way better screen.

but the z keys are crap for most genres.

has anyone successfully used a CF USB-host card + joypad with pdaXrom?

Code: [Select]
echo export SDL_NOMOUSE=1 >> ~/.bash_profileadds the command to the script that runs each time you login

thanks Mickey.

adding "nolock" to the mount options in fstab does the trick.
