Cosmo Communicator - General Discussion / Cosmo is turning itself on!

I have decided not to carry my Cosmo as my daily driver anymore. Going back to my Razor Phone 2 until my FXTec Pro1 gets delivered.
I've turned off my Cosmo and packed it back in it's box. It sits on a shelf in my office. For some reason, the Cosmo will turn itself back on at some point. I can hear it chiming notifications in the morning. I take it back out of the box and turn it back off. I've done this 2 days in a row now.

Why is it turning itself on? It doesn't appear to be using much battery, but it's disturbing that it just turns itself on!
I'm on firmware v23

Any ideas?
Any kind of TIMED notifications will turn almost any phone on, as long as it has power. So if you have any kind of clock alarms or notifications for entries in the calendar, the phone WILL turn on for those notifications. (If there are other notifications when you open the device, find out which program is sending them, and try to disable them from that program...)

Thanks, it must have been my alarm I had set. I would have never imagined the phone could turn itself on for any reason.

Cosmo Communicator - Android / V22 is out.
« on: June 30, 2020, 06:09:37 am »
I have used my Cosmo paired with a Fossil Gen 5 watch, external screen on, and have had no issues over the past couple days. No reboots or crashes so far. I would like to point out that I immediately disable all the Planet Computer apps that are pre-installed, except for the CODI app itself. I also disabled the app bar.
I do not play games on my Cosmo. Used to streaming audio in the car during the day, emails, txt msgs, light internet surfing and I read Google News app about 3 or 4 times through the day. I'm seeing about %50 battery drain from 5:30am to 9pm.
I am actually very pleased with the performance and battery improvements. I could not get through a whole day if I left the external screen on before v22.

I installed it successfully a couple days ago. Failed the CODI update the first time, but upon retrying it installed successfully. Battery life is exceptionally improved. I've been able to leave the external screen on and it has lasted the whole day. Responsiveness of the external screen is better, but still not where I'd like to see it. I'll be using it for my daily driver over the next couple days. Wish Me Luck!

For Sale / Wanted / Cosmo Communicator for Sale

I was not getting notifications for these replies. I would like to see $500 out of my Cosmo. It's got about 2 weeks of use on it. I stopped using it after the security exploitation was highlighted. I have heard that they have ditched DigiTime, but I am holding my breathe that v22 will make it more usable for a daily driver.

I still haven't received my Pro 1, so I'm still using my old Razer phone 2 for now.

Cosmo Communicator - Android / v19 to v21?
« on: April 26, 2020, 07:46:45 am »
I haven't been using my Cosmo, but I do try to keep it updated. I'm currently on v19 firmware and have linux installed alongside android. I understand v20 had some issues so I skipped that one. Is it possible to update from v19 to v21? Also, where can I find v21 if that is possible?

Any word on v22?

Hello,
I got my Cosmo Communicator in December 2019. I used it for a couple of weeks and then put it back in the box. I just ordered an FXtec Pro 1 and now I have this Cosmo collecting dust.
I'm open to trades and offers.
I'm in the Indiana area of United States.
Cosmo has English keyboard and is GSM ready. No Verizon.
