General Discussion / Gtk On Directfb For Embedded Systems
« on: November 13, 2009, 03:15:44 am »
Hello, did you notice any performance improvements? Was Z a little snappier than usual?
According to http://www.directfb.org/index.php?path=Main%2FScreenshots, DirectFB 1.3 supports some kind of rotation.

When I try to boot from CF/Microdrive I get the following:

VFS: Mounted root (ext2 filesystem) readonly on device 3:3
Freeing init memory: 88K
Warning: Unable to open initial console

Try to copy /dev from SD to microdrive, should be ok.

Debian / More Help With Marvel Chipset Wifi Card
« on: April 05, 2009, 03:31:06 pm »
I have pretec marvell card and it generally works.
Have you installed firmware:
http://nokamoto.blogspot.com/2008/01/zauru...x-gw-cf54g.html

It may depend also on what kernel (modules) you use.

By the way, people reporting that detection of the NAND partitions takes extremely long during booting, try erasing or re-flashing the NAND, this solves this problem.

Thanks Cortez for all that you have done with zubuntu.  It is working well for me.

I tried re-flashing NAND (with the kexec kernel) and still get a long partition detection time.  There are several parts to the NAND.  Which would I erase if I wanted to shorten the NAND detection time?

I had the same problem with slow probing flash and solved it by installing mtd-utils_1.1.0+git-r1_arm.deb (from "Running Zubuntu from internal flash" blog post) and using command flash_eraseall /dev/mtd2 and /dev/mtd3 (default root and home partitions for Sharp ROM). I don't know if you use those partitions for anything, so take care .

Which updater.sh do we need for the sharp zImage.bin?

I did that with Angstrom's updater and gnu-tar.
I have extracted modules manually before flashing.

I just fixed it. When I changed one option in the kernel, the power resume works well.

Great! Will you upload new build to you site?

But I have a problem: When I suspend the system, I cannot turn it on and I should reset the system. Does anyone have this problem? This is the critical problem.

yonggun

Yes me to - resume is broken.

I updated the kernel 2.6.24. Please see the 1st post.

I am testing new kernel now, sharp bootloader version.
My marvell wi-fi card works for the first time, thanks to 2or0 and nokamoto!
The only problem I experieced for now is that tskeys eats 100% CPU after starting X. I used angstrom kernel before, so maybe some cfg files need to be tweaked for this version of kernel.

Great news! I have Pretec Marvell card, but I will probably wait for non-uboot kernel.

VICE Versatile Commodore Emulator, for nostalgic granddaddies

I didn't test it much, it loads games fine, and seems to run at playable speed.
I didn't yet figured how to "emulate" joystick on z keyboard (hm, you can never escape reading manual:)
After install, start with x64 command.
