C1000/3x00 Hardware / What Do You Guys Do With A Zaurus?

Wow, a lot of stuff I did not know was possible. I bought a 3100, just waiting for it to come in. *twiddles thumbs* Guess I`ll have a replacement for my Libretto 70 now! What software package is good for internet radio? There are a few ogg streams I listen to (if you like bleeps and bloops check out kohina.org). Would it be like xmms?

That may depend on the image you choose for your 3100... I'm running pdaXii13 on my C1000 and honestly, the best setup I have found so far for listening to music (mp3's and streaming in my case) is Rox configured to play mp3 files via mplayer.

Quasar is a close 2nd, but I don't think it does streaming.  I've tried xmms but (to me) it seems to be a bit too much for my Z.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Pyqt For Rc12

I would like to be able to write gui python apps for my SL-5500 and my C760 with pdaxrom.

It looks like PyQT is the best bet, but I have read that the available version is for 2.3.  RC12 and kopsis' image is 2.4.  I took a shot at compiling it myself but no luck.

Could someone recompile PyQT 2.4 for rc12?

I've used the 2.3 version with RC11 (haven't upgraded to rc12 yet).  I just had to copy what was installed to python2.3/site-packages to python2.4/site-packages.  I haven't run into any issues with my pyqt apps.  

My notes say that I downloaded the ipks from the 'cacko x11 feed'.  Can't find the url but if you need the packages let me know.

Thanks, Chero & zdevil... I re-installed to main memory (it was in user) and it works great.  Sorry, I should have read your initial post :-)

Looks like a nice tool, I'll have to explore it a bit.  Thanks for the packages!

pdaxrom rc 11 on c1k -- tuxcards segfaults but snotes works ok.  I'm tempted to look into what would be necessary to make stickynotes a matchbox applet.  That tiny icon isn't too easy to find with a picture as your background :-)

1. Can I still use my old 5500 charger on the c1000? I want to have a charger at work and at home so I was going to reuse the old one.

I agree... I got my C1000 from pricejapan without any problems, with a great price, and extremely quickly.  I'd recommend them anyday.

Software / Ideas For Xml -> Html Conversion?

You could write an XSLT transform that takes the XML and churns it into html.  I compiled the libxslt for pdaxrom so it could be done pretty easily on the Z.

I'll try to check out stage one... if it's something I might use I could probably do a stylesheet someday.

Vncviewer works on my C1000 with rc11.  I'm using the sash's patched xserver, as well (allows mouse & touchscreen).

rc11?  See the main rc11 thread... if you run qpkg (the gui package updater), the feed is improperly reset to the main feed which will "upgrade" your X installation to the wrong version.

You can also grab it from the SDK if you have it installed.  If not, go for the ipk above since it's a 95+mb download :-)
