Hi folks,

I am still trying to set up an IrdA-PPP connection between my Sony Ericsson k608i (somewhat dated.....just like the Zaurus:)) and my newly acquired SL C-3200.

I had the same Sony Ericsson k608i connected to my old Psion 5mxPro which always worked.

But I have never used IrdA-PPP on the Zaurus, so if somebody can give me a comprehensive general introduction, that would be appreciated as well!

So far I have tried following init-strings:

at e0<cr>at+cgatt=0<cr>at+cgdcont=3,"ip","drei.at" or AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","drei.at","0.0.0.0",0,0

and

AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","drei.at","0.0.0.0",0,0

My provider is in Austria called "Drei", and the APN is on first place on my phone.

On my Psion I only had to type in the calling number which was: *99***1#, do I need to put this at the "phone" line in the network connection?????

Are there any other suggestions????

Thanks: Balazs

Hi folks,

I just purchased a C3200 and now I am back to the Zaurus world again!!! I used to have a C750 before.

I have never used IrDA-PPP before, so this is the first time, at least with the Zaurus. I used to have a working connection with the same phone (SonyEricsson k608i) and my Psion 5mxPro with the following parameters:

APN: drei.at (this is my provider)
Calling number: *99***1# (this was because the providers network is on the first place in the phone)
no password
everything else (DNS,IP,etc.): automatic
AND I DIDN'T have to set up or enter ATZ-String.

So, my question is: how do I set up this on my Zaurus? Do I need the ATZ-String, and if yes, where can I get it?

Sorry for the stupid question, but I just can't figure it out!

Thanks: Balazs

Ubuntu / Is Multibooting Zubuntu + Cacko Possible On C1000?
« on: August 21, 2009, 02:15:31 am »
Hi everyone!

1. Maybe a stupid question.....: Is it possible to multiboot and use Zubuntu and Cacko on a C1000? Or should I go for a C3100 or C3200 instead? In other words, do I need the additional harddrive, and if yes, is 4Gb enough for this purpose?

2. Does OpenOffice work on Zubuntu? I would need to create pdf files from texts. Or is there any other good software that can convert a text with pictures to pdf on the Zaurus (on Cacko 1.23 would be ideal if possible.?

I want to spend some more time with Zaurus again, but my only real experience so far was my C750, which I sold several months ago.

Thanks: Balazs

For Sale / Wanted / Wanted: Zaurus C750,c760 Or C860 As An Entry Device!
« on: October 18, 2008, 05:40:29 pm »
Hi!

I am considering an entry into the Zaurus world, and am looking for a (not too expensive) way to test, if it suits my needs, or not.

So, I am looking for a C-clamshell model, the base price should be no more than 100 euros (with accessoires of course more...).

Anybody out there, who could sell me one?

Thanx: Balazs

Security and Networking / How To Connect Zaurus (c760) To Nokia N70 Over Bt?
« on: September 27, 2008, 05:09:15 pm »
Hi!

I am considering to buy a Zaurus clamshell, probably the C760 for trying out what´s possible with it.

My question is: how can I connect the Zaurus to my Nokia N70 over bluetooth to do file transfer and to connect to the internet through my phone network? Is there some kind of a "howto" somewhere, or can somebody give me details?

Which BT card, adapter, etc. works with this, using Cacko 1.23, which I intend to use on the Z?

Thanks a lot, best regards: B.Becker
