C1000/3x00 Hardware / C3200 Wont Stay On
« on: March 23, 2007, 09:13:14 am »
Hope someone can help me fix my C3200.

When I switch my Zaurus on it only stays on for 2 seconds, screen goes off then back on for a second then stays off.

I have swapped the battery over with my C760 & the problem stays with the C3200.

Works correctly when on mains power.

Any suggestions?

Can anyone tell me how to create a shortcut in the file explorer, on similar lines to Microsoft where you can copy a file or folder then paste a shortcut elsewhere?

Software / Open Pdf Documents
« on: June 01, 2006, 06:26:02 am »
Does anyone know how to get file explorer to open PDF documents in qpdf, as it tries to open them into Opera but this fails.

I assume it has something to do with mime types or the desktop files.

I am using Cacko ROM.

Software / Tuxpaint
« on: May 19, 2006, 08:42:28 am »
Has anyone got TuxPaint working on the C1000/3000/3100/3200 works on my C760 but not on my C3200, fails at the point it displays the startup screen on my C760.

Perhaps more importantly how do I get it working just in case I let any of my grandchildren near my C3200.

C1000/3x00 General discussions / Usb Host Problems With C3200
« on: April 28, 2006, 08:58:37 am »
Hope someone can help me with a few problems I am having with my C3200, I know the basics as I have had a C760 for many years.

I have tried using various USB devices such as card reader, USB memory stick, self powered NTFS drives & my Canon IXUS camera. Each item is displayed in the Devices tab under System info so the Z can see what ever I attach, so I assume they must be mounted, but I am unable to access them. Example device tab contents:-

Vendor:
Product: USB OHCI Root Hub
Class: HUB
ID: 0000/0000
Driver: hub

And the SD card as

Product: CS8819A2
Class: Mass Storage
ID: 04cf/8819
Driver usb-storage

Has anyone any idea what I have to do, yes I did load Meanie’s NTFS driver, I did not load the auto mounter as it appears to be for the C3000 only

I would like to throw in a couple or other C3200 issues.

The C3200 comes with the Japanese version of Photo-Storage, I tried loading the English version which resulted in the loss of the squares for the Japanese characters but no English ones on the initial screen.

If I load Stubear’s modified Sharp/Cacko hybrid will all my USB & PhotoStoarge problems go away?

I would like to try X/QT now that I have lots of disk space & 2 free card slots, should I stick to the stock Sharp ROM or the hybrid. Can I remove the CF card with X/QT on it if I am not using X/QT, such as when I am transferring pictures from my camera.

Thanks

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / 300% Increase In Card Capacity For $50
« on: April 24, 2006, 04:50:59 am »
Has anyone tried the Swelldisk at swelldisk.com they claim that it works on the Zaurus as shown below. Not cheap but a lot cheaper than buying a larger CF or SD card.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for insterested in our product. For your device, we recommend the SwellDisk 300% Edition. It will triple your memory card capacity.

Yes! We already have SwellDisk For Linux Mobile, it have tested on Sharp Zaurus, Motorola Phone (e680/e680i) and many other devices.

If you want to purchase SwellDisk 300% Edition now, we offer you only $44.99 (from $49.99).

My original question asked if it could increase internal flash capacity which they ignored.

Cxx0 Hardware / Stylus Won't Stay In Silo
« on: April 21, 2006, 10:00:19 am »
Having difficulties getting the stylus to stay in the silo on my C760 & its getting worse.

Anyone have any idea how to improve the silo grip so I don't keep replacing the stylus.

Is there a similar problem with newer models as I have a C3200 on order.

I have a C760 & about to purchase a C3200 & want to know if I need to update my drivers or Zaurus software.

I use Windows 2000 with Zaurus Manager 3.1 & Intellisync 2.00E

Apologies if the question has been asked before, I did look through the rather large number of posts on syncing issues.

Windows Issues / C760 Usb Driver Problem
« on: December 13, 2004, 09:21:08 am »
I usually connect my C760 to the same USB port each time I synchronise, just tried it on the other USB port & Windows 2000 did not recognise it.

Tried the same thing on my Windows 2000 portable & the same thing.

Can anyone use any USB port and if so are you using Sharp or Cacko ROM & which version of Windows.
