Sharp PC-Z1 NetWalker / Kdepimpi On Netwalker?
« on: January 18, 2010, 11:35:15 am »
Did anyone manage to compile the KDEPimpi-Sources from Sourceforge? I loved to work with KAPI and KOPI on my old Zaurus, which were so much better than KOrganizer and KAddressbook, but unfortunately the ipks cannot be transferred to armel code debs directly. The sources are available at sourceforge but I know far too less about Qtopia to compile it.

Sharp PC-Z1 NetWalker / Some Issues With Flash And Ppp...
« on: January 16, 2010, 09:04:36 am »
Got my device  yesterday and it runs pretty well so far in german localisation. Two issues: 1. Can't get flash-lite to work properly. I installed everything according to plan but I can only get audio, video is black. Found the plugins in /usr/lib/... but no go. 2. Can't get PPP-EDGE-connection to work. As wvdial is obviously corrupted in armel, I managed to build up EDGE on the phone via chapscripts. The EDGE connection is stable and shows up on the phone but without any traffic and no connection to internet. I think there may be some DNS problem, but I made my contributions to resolv.conf...Any hints?

Debian / Bluetooth Ppp-dialup Pairing Problems
« on: September 09, 2008, 09:05:49 am »
I use Debian-Andromeda on a 3200. My Belkin-BT-Card is recognized and works with OBEX or PAN. Rfcomm0 is specified, HCI is working and I have a correct givepin and pin and connect script for my samsung phone, which  worked well with pdaxrom.
Zaurus is recognized on the phone, but I get "pairing not possible". All MACs are ok, my class in hcid.conf is 0x100110. I fiddled with that but it had no influence at all. All other entries in hcid.conf are as usual. I think the Z  does'nt show any services to the peer (don't know why?), but it should be able to pair anyhow. Anyone solved this?

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Any "stable" Version For C3200?
« on: May 20, 2006, 02:04:12 am »
I  worked with a C860 with beta1 and I loved it. Now I have a C3200 and I wonder if  there  is already a "stable" version (like beta1) für C3200? I tried beta1-akita, but it  did'nt install ("wrong machine"). I searched for beta2, but there only was a dead link. I tried beta3, but there was no "."-key at all (and some other sweet little bugs). I tried beta4, but there was no right mouse click (and some other sweet little bugs).
As I have to use my zaurus professionally, I need a minimum of stable basic functions.
Any hints? Any experience from other C3200 users?

Sharp ROMs / Nand-restore On Cacko 1.23
« on: November 05, 2005, 05:23:41 am »
Anyone, who did a successfull NAND-Restore with the new ROM 1.23?
NAND-Backup works fine, but when trying to restore I get Restore...failed Format error. This happens only with cacko 1.23.
I can restore the old version 1.22 without problems with the same CF- or SD-card. The problem is the 32 MB-root-partition.
Any suggestions?

EDIT: This happens with the C860 version.

Software / Sylpheed And Proxy?
« on: September 28, 2005, 07:17:04 am »
Has anyone managed to use sylpheed with pdaxrom rc11 on C860 with a proxy? Thunderbird does it without problems, but it seems to be far too slow. So sylpheed would be great, but without a proxy I cannot reach anything...

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Libstdcxx-problem
« on: September 23, 2005, 08:09:40 am »
Has anyone solved the problem that some applications cannot run because there is no libstdc++.so.5? On my  C860 fi I cannot run opie-reader or a newer kdepim. I also didn't find this lib in an older feed. Any solutions?

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Problems With Bt-pan
« on: February 24, 2005, 05:07:10 am »
Hi,
last weekend I ran some tests on pdaxrom 9.1 and found it really amazing.
But there were some minor problems when I tried to establish a Bluetooth-PAN-connection to a WINXP-Box as alternative to power consuming WLAN:
First of all there is no working applet for PAN-connections (I found none. There is an applet  only for ppp-connections, which I use for my Nokia phone). So I created two batch files to setup and unset bnep0 device and route. This runs OK but leaves some questions, f.i. on using proxies and gateway. A fully configurable applet as found in cacko rom would be great.
When the BT-connection is established I cannot see it on the panel. I would like to have a seperate symbol for BT-connections.
After having PAN-BT connection established for a while, I experience some problems with my Nokia-BT-card DGL1, which seems to crash the connection now and then without any recognizable pattern. You have to restart it, and then it works fine for the next period. The same problem I saw with cacko-rom, so I think it's a driver problem. I have another BT-card which works great without that problem with cacko 1.22 (Belkin F8T020, I posted the data in the sharp rom forum). I managed to let it be recognized under pdaxrom but it doesn't work anyhow.  So it would be nice to have it supported.

Thanks a lot for your great work,

Security and Networking / WEP problems with WLAN-cards on C860
« on: September 08, 2004, 08:21:09 am »
When I'm trying to make a connection with my SMC-CF-WLAN card using WEP (64 or 128 bit, open or shared), my CL860 always reports WEP-errors and refuses to connect. Without WEP the connection always works fine. Same problems occur with other cards I tested (Socket, D-Link...). I use the cacko 1.21b (Qtopia) ROM. I did all entries with the network applet. Is it necessary to enable WEP within any hidden script or is it a known bug? Any solutions?

Security and Networking / PAN with Nokia Connectivity Card
« on: August 08, 2004, 04:24:45 am »
Hi,
I'm trying to establish a BT-PAN connection from my CL860 with tkcROM 2.51 with a Nokia Connectivity-BT-card to a WIN98-SE Box with EPOX-BT- dongle and Widcomm 1.421 software.
At first I tried the connection from the Z to my Nokia 6310i which worked fine.
Then I installed the Qtopia PAN-applet and created the connection to the BT-Modem on the WIN-Box. The IP for the BT-modem at the WIN-Box is 192.168.129.1, for the Zaurus 192.168.129.201.
With hciscan on the Z I can see the MAC-address of the WIN-Box. When I try:
"sudo pand --role PANU --service NAP --connect >MAC-Adr.< --nodetach"
I get the Z-Icon on the WIN-Box enlighed for a short time, but the Z says: "connecting...Permission denied". When I try
"ifconfig bnep0 >Z-MAC<"
then there is no device bnep0 (because the pand-command failed, I think). When searching the Nokia-card on the WIN-Box, there is no service available.
I know from other threads that the configuration with the connectivity-card must work.  Another connection from a Sony-Clie-device to the WIN-Box works properly. It's very frustrating and I have no idea what to try next! Any suggestions?
