Or you could use
Code: [Select]
ldd to check which libraries are needed.
I never knew that!

I can go back to sleep now that I've learned my thing for the day.

a nice script to calculate dependencies is here : https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showto...mp;#entry120038

Check "calcdepends" in post #9

Have fun,
Chero.

That's a U50X (U8240), not a U810.
(no bluetooth, no webcam)
That's good to know I was thinking of picking one up.

WARNING :
Wrong thread to post this (sorry ArchiMark), but I think people should know.
dfj-store doesn't deliver legal English install disks either.
Be sure what you're doing before closing a deal with them.
I did buy a "u810" -> received a U50X -> complained -> they admitted "u810" in the title is a bit confusing and I was promised a partial refund (no bluetooth, no webcam) and a legal install DVD of vista business.
Never received the refund, never received the DVD.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
ArchiMark has nothing to do with dfj-store, so it is quite alright do do business with him.

Is it the all black or the part white version? (I'm assuming all black, but hoping it's the white one...)

As far as I know and have seen, all U810's are all black, espi.

However, housing of display on the outside and part of the outside of the lower half of the U810 is a nice metallic black.

The frame right around the display itself and the keyboard and it's surround are a 'solid black' color.

Hope that this clarifies things....

Here's the white one:

Kinda tight right?

Debian / Htc Universal

The gtkdialog I have doesn't work properly on the universal, most of the button clicks handlers are not processed, but rather a critical assertion given.

This is a shame because glade-3 (which also runs on the phone!!) was helping do some nice phone GUI.

Sam

I remember this problem with glade,
Try configuring the app with

LDFLAGS="-export-dynamic"

it helped me out with gnocky.

Hi,

I'd recommend a NAND restore.
If the device has been running pdaX with a 121Mb root or some kind of debian a normal flash won't work.

hi all !
i know this site ( www.dfj-store.com )
My sharp ZAURUS Sl-C3200 come from this site. Amazing service ! (4 days shipping !)
And very friendly people.

You mean "own" this site ... . Speaking of a new way to spread spam ...

Be careful what you buy there !!!
I ordered a u810 and received a U50X (no bluetooth and no camera).
Then I was promised a partial refund, I even removed negative feedback on ebay, but never received anything ...

People may be friendly, but not honest ...

Debian / Debain Eabi On C7x0 With Angstrom 2.6.24 Kernel
« on: April 03, 2008, 02:36:09 pm »

I have been trying to get debain working on my c860 with the new angstrom kernel (2.6.24) but had no luck   . When I try to boot from SD card in the altboot menu, it always freezes at the "Calling INIT" line after  mounting the sd card.
Has anybody been able to boot debain eabi with the new kernel on the c860? I also tried following the directions on an older post (https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=25399) on booting with the 2.6.23 kernel but had no luck as well.

Any help would be appreciated. Oh, I am using the 071201 rootfs tarball for debian.

Thanks.

As far as I recall altboot is broken in kernels after 2.6.21.
Try getting 2.6.21 or check the angstrom mailing lists for more recent info.

Good luck,
Chero.

Do you get to set your DNS stuff during setup? Setting my DNS to 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 seems to help my name resolution.
If I remember correctly, there is a way to go to console and manually install packages ?
During my Titchy install I manually installed wireless tools and the needed lib as well as dhcpcd cause I don't have fixed ip-s.
Then I coennected through command line (the installer can't use dhcp), after that the install process was just fine.
I guess I used the netinstall iso to be able to do this. But even then the installer could not use dhcp, using it from command line was fine.

hello zaurus users,

this is probably one of my last visit to the oesf forum... i've finally sold my zaurus C3000 (bought in january 2005!) and i bought a fujitsu u1010...

good bye to all people here and thank you for your help !

so keep up the good work, you know you have the best (pocketable!) device ever
jean-paul

I also thought so about 2 months ago and now I find myself visiting these forums at least 2 or 3 times a week ...
So let's say "au revoir".
I still didn't get a good offer on my c1000 and I'm getting quite used to the idea of keeping it, after all, it is pocketable.
With the U dualbooting linux and xp, I don't use the Z that much any longer but still can't imagine life without it.

Have fun,
Chero.

2. i could calibrate after changing the bios setting to touchscreen instead of tablet (and before dropping vista completely)

no luck for me: when i change that setting i cannot even open the calibrate dialog which tells me:

No suitable hardware found to calibrate
The digitizer Calibration Tool supports only integrated digitizers.

ps: registered to upmcportal too

Maybe this discussion will get more response on umpcportal.
It could have been the other way around with my bios ... . Try checking the latest drivers. I can't test since I'm off Vista.

Left the U suspended overnight while ubuntu was up. Unplugged power. When I resumed this morning I had 94% of battry left . Nice.

1- do you have the high capacity battery and where can you buy it ?

2-do you know how to solve the vista calibration trouble (except moving to ubuntu

3-i think an alternate bluetooth mouse would be great  don't you ?

that's all for now
1. expansys has them cheaper then ebay
2. i could calibrate after changing the bios setting to touchscreen instead of tablet (and before dropping vista completely)
3. yes

So, you put 'straight' Unbuntu 7.10 on it?

Not Kunbuntu or Xunbuntu, etc....

Thanks,

Mark

Ubuntu Hardy (8) Alpha 4, I guess (but I've been doing updates from time to time)
(now suspend/resume is working, but I have to kill "s2ram" after resume. Ugly, but working)
(update : reinstalled uswsusp -> now working properly, no need to kill anything any longer)

@jpmatrix : installed through usb-dvddrive.
