not sure if this is what you need -- if so -- grab it (all) fast:

one question -- for these SPs.... the ones for 198 are the ones for 700/860, correct?

Also, do I have to apply sp1, then sp2, then 3... or just sp5?

It seems like I just do "sp5" ... right? no others before?

(sorry for the last quote at the bottom)

Ok, I may give it a try.  I've been waiting a long time for the next non-beta stable release...  seems like it's just never gonna happen.

With any rom -- I just need a good gcc/g++ and Qt 4.2.3 (or later).

I may hunt down where the rom is and give it a try.

thanks!

grog -- could you tell me/us a little about the latest (198+sp4?) on 860?

I still can't see a clear message if it's still too early to change to this or if
it's stable... etc.[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=162816\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
Well, AFAIK the only thing that it currently breaks is the xpdf binary, which I've made Meanie aware of. Just reinstall xpdf after. On the upside, updates to wifi-radar are nice to have (i.e. it actually works now). But I don't use all of the applications that are touched, so your mileage may vary.

Bottom line is, I'd recommend going for it, but don't kill the messenger if something does break . We're still using a beta product, after all

ha!

jedhead added some themes here quickly and then things went silent.

the themes directory is > 95% of the traffic to spy.

yes, it's less than 0.5% of the disk space (just for zaurus).

I'm still watching the logs for the zarusus stuff, and the themes is probably
the only stuff that will remain when I do the purge.

er, right... I've got plenty of backups of this -- as you can see, the areas are divided into dvd sized chunks.

I was planning on leaving a dir listing -- but it just seems so much like a tease.

what I'm going to do is watch the stats for a few more months... and anything that's still
getting references will  be left around.  Perhaps down to 1 dvd or something.

hi --

there are a lot of old[er] files on zaurus.spy.org -- and I am wondering if they're really all
that useful anymore -- even for archival purposes.

I'm debating removing most of the zaurus archives.  I'm watching accesses for
the various pages, and it's usually very light -- >90% of accesses are for
screen background images.

There are files like 1.0.5, 1.1.0, multiple releases from 2004
when it seemed like there was a major release every two weeks,
beta1/beta2/beta3, rc12, etc...

I know it's difficult to tell what's listed just by dirnames -- but if there's any interest at all,
I could do a ls -R and post that (large) file.

I dont know if you have  been watchin the current pdaxrom "traffic" but we just added more people to the team because of the scattered about of documentation.... that is one of our main focuses...

Late
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=154800\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

but of course!  I look forward to it.
My Zs have been off for about a year as I have been waiting for the next *non-threatening* release.
I've seen some "releases" but they always seemed to say for "hardcore developers only" and had a lot of warnings about this and that and potential dangers -- and this is beyond the normal warnings/notices, etc.

I'm really looking forward to getting the next *stable* release on the Z and then getting Qt 4.2.2 (or later) on it so I can dev on the Z again -- I miss that.

ah...  this is concise -- but you can see how someone not following closely would get buried in details.

Question / suggestion :  Is there a single web/wiki page (on pdaxrom.org?) that has a chart that shows the information from that post -- along with dl and feed locations?

Yes, I've seen bits and pieces here and there, but nothing comprehensive.

I wish I could help ya... I've kinda been floating along for a while too.

I'm not sure what the last/latest/best/stable rom is for the 760.

It seems like there hasn't been a "release" for about 2 years,
although it seems there's always some new beta this or some
new number that -- there always seem to be more problems
than fixes -- from what the comments seem to indicate.

I keep.... waiting.

Perhaps one day... there will be a clear release.  Non-1.x
"beta" "rc" 3x00 only special boot loader only release.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Any Hope?
« on: October 29, 2006, 12:11:46 pm »
I've been following the reports about recent releases and the 760 -- all reports are depressing and dismal.

Is there any hope for a consolidated *new* release that works on *all* C or later models?

Also, it seems like the installation method has recently become more complicated and risky.

What's going on?  It seems like development / releases have come to a near complete stand-still.

hey --

can you get above 25% (30%?) speed with ms pacman?

older mame was ok -- but it would never run better than 1/4 speed!

playing all games on valium sucked.
