These are suspends on battery with the SD and CF card inserted. After about a long period of suspend, say an hour or so, the whole unit seems to reset and I'm back at the log in prompt.

Perhaps there is a glitch somewhere in the suspend when it's on battery?

I forgot to mention that Akita now features a bare-bone samba server.

EDIT: the earlier version of oz/gpe worked for awhile earlier after flashing. I managed to use my xi-825 to get online via adhoc wifi.  Seeing firefox run on Akita is really cool!  ... then it started bumming me out to logon screen.

hmmm ... just tried the new binaries ... I am getting directory errors after "Waiting for /dev to be fully populated"

OZ/GPE ... trying out oz/opie right now ...

EDIT: btw, what am I supposed to do with "modules-2.6.16-akita.tgz"?

Make sure your partitioning is the Sharp default.

The link shows a default Sharp partitioning. If you have messed with the partitions in the past, a nand restore to a sharp ROM will restore the partitions,.

If you install OZ over a sharp ROM, doesn't some rubbish from the sharp rom get left on the flash somewhere?

rm -rf /home/* will take care of that
