Want Compiled Thread?
« Reply #210 on: March 29, 2007, 03:41:40 pm »
It compiled (without sendmail), but wouldn't "make install" for me. Here's the compiled source, though.
SL-C750- pdaXrom beta 1 (mostly unused)
Current distro: Gentoo

I downloaded sonix-20050316.tar.gz. But it seems to be only for 2.6.x kernel.

try the older sweexcam-0.0.1.tar.gz
it compiles for me but does not work due to some problem with my compiler which I will need to fix eventually, but until then I hope you will be able to compile a working version instead.

thanks for compiling it, but it does not work either. it actually gets to the point of recognizing my camera correctly which is an improvement over the module i compiled, but then it gives an "Internal error: branch through zero: 0" message and hangs.

could you try compiling the other module as well, maybe that one works better since there are so many more releases of that driver and it supports many more webcams as well.

Could someone please compile this module?
It is "pcnet_cs" module for ethernet cards
I have searched everywhere and haven't found this already compiled for 2.4.20 kernels.
In the attached archive, pcnet_cs.c is found in this directory.
/pcmcia-cs-3.2.8/clients/pcnet_cs.c

I'm hoping this is the correct file.
If this only works for 2.6 kernels, there are two earlier versions on same webpage.
They are 3.2.7 and 3.2.6
I found it at sourceforge. Below is the information on the sourceforge page.
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=2405
Quote
About Linux PCMCIA Card Services

Linux support for PCMCIA and CardBus devices, including kernel services, client drivers, and user-level utilities. The kernel components are deprecated for 2.4 and later kernels. The user-level tools are deprecated for 2.6.13 and later kernels.

Package     Release    Date
pcmcia-cs  3.2.8     July 16, 2004
File Release Notes and Changelog

Release Name: 3.2.8

Notes: Not much to report, a few minor changes for better behavior with 2.6.* kernels, and bug fixes for corner cases.
Changes: <pre> [16-Jul-04] Version 3.2.8 -- Added config check for realtime extensions, from Arno Geissel. -- Added capability to rename interfaces to network config script. -- Changed tools to use makedev() macro to construct device numbers. -- Fixed serial script to not try to use /dev/cua* on 2.6 kernels. -- Fixed 'ds' module test in rc.pcmcia script. -- Fixed orinoco driver's close() function to not "detach" the interface, which would prevent it from being reopened. -- Fixed bug in Configure script's propagation of CONFIG_SYSV option, from Johannes Martin. -- Fixed cardmgr to close open file handles when forking other processes, from Dan Walsh. </pre>

I'm sorry, but I can't. I haven't figured out how to ocmpile modules yet.

Somebody else probably can, though.

has anyone compiled the driver modules for the generic webcams that was up on Tyrannozaurus?  I've tried to set up build enviros but I fail miserably.  I know you said you can't compile modules Capn but I figured it was silly to start a new topic.

If I get a 2.4.x build env set up, I'll try, but I've got another build I have to do first (I'm getting to it, albeit very slowly, Chero   ).

If somebody else would do it, that would be great, otherwise, wait a bit and I'll probably get it done (if it's a straightforward build).

Hey,

Could someone please compile Dsniff and Ettercap.

Here is the link to the latest version of  Ettercap: http://ettercap.sourceforge.net/download.php

And here's the Dsniff file.

Thanks,

VirtusRex

Just mentioning that I'm slowly getting to this stuff (got a little sidetracked and all of a sudden have lots of stuff to work on/do).

My Z won't open the DSniff file. Are you sure it's OK? It didl't like it as a zip, a tgz, or a gz.
