I solved(?) the problem. When I removed gtk2 and reinstall orginal gtk2 in the beta 3 feed, I could type cjk characters. I guess that gtk2 in pdaxii13 build 5.3.5 is something wrong.

need help!

my wifi "pretec" does not work on the zaurus. But it does identify it as a pretec wifi cf card in the terminal. when i plug it into the the cf slot, it identifies it in the cards applet as agere system wifi or soemthing. anyway to help the wifi software work with the cf wifi?

Which rom are you using? I've noticed you're using Cacko and Sharp from your sig and this thread is for pdaxii13 on nand!

For pdaxii13 5.3.3, I have no issue using my Pretec wifi cf. Actually the card has served me well since pdaxrom RC10.4 all the way to r121! Anyway, I haven't tested pdaxii13 5.3.5 yet...

im running the latest stable pdaxii13 akita on the c-3200. the pretec is found fine but i have issues using it. Maybee i need to play with it. Still, how did you get yours working?

I finding my problem
the gtk2_2.6.2-3_armv5tel.ipk [span style=\'font-size:14pt;line-height:100%\']( libgtk-X11-2.0.so.0.600.2 is Bad)[/span]

我嘗試尋找有問題的檔案發現 gtk2_2.6.2-3_armv5tel.ipk 的 libgtk-X11-2.0.so.0.600.2 是有問題的故將 Pdaxrom官方的 libgtk-X11-2.0.so.0.600.2 copy to /usu/lib 就可解決這問題但 Leafpda開啟檔案視窗太大 (open file windows too large)
或許有誰英文比較好可以寫信給 tyrannozaurus.com 請他重新編譯 libgtk-X11-2.0.so.0.600.2 謝謝大家~~~~~~~~

I've installed pdaXii13 on my C3200 using the files listed here:

And the hdimage here:

The version command says it's 5.3.1, is there a more up to date hdimage for the 3200, or do I need to update them manually, if at all? I wasn't sure if I should use the hdimage found here:

because it says "For C3000."

I thought I was getting all the latest stuff, I'd like to be absolutely sure before I continue customizing it to my own needs.

Use 5.3.1 if you want a really tested and stable version, or use the 5.3.5 in the tmp section for the latest and greatest. Don't worry about it saying C3000...

Hey Cresho,

After reading your post I remembered that I have 2 of those pretec cards I bought off the HSN ages ago that I dug out of an old tote box and dropped into my c3200 (running the latest initrd with hdimige-full v5.5.5beta) and have the EXACT same issues. I THINK I might can shed some light on the problem.

I was never able to get these cards to work natively on cacko/sharp unless I manually edited a listing for them if I remember correctly. You could get around that by flashing them up to a more recent firmware and then they could used with the vanilla HOSTAPI drivers. (I believe this might be what pdaxii13 is trying to do.) But I never updated my firmware because I never had a linuxbox available at the time I wanted to do it and so never got it done.

So my question is ... can we manually make a seperate listing for them like we did under sharp/cacko? Or if we update the firmware in them can they be used with pdaXii13?

It'd be cool either way because they're smaller and use less juice than my Dlink DCF-660W! I'd forgotten I even had them or I'd be trying to use them already.

But again I get the exact same symptoms you do...they get Identified as Agere Systems Heremes-I ..... and never initialize.

Maybe that info will get us a step closer. Hope it helps a bit!

Pretec wifi issue

Yes, I have the same problem with 5.3.5 & 5.4.

My Pretec wifi is wrongly identified as 'Agere Systems Hermes-I' and dmesg shows 'Wireless, HCF failure: "Error code 64"'.

With the same card and same C3100, in 5.3.3 it can be correctly identified as 'Pretect' and worked perfectly.

I noticed from the 5.3.4 release note hermes wifi support was added. So will it be the source of the issue?

I have not been around this issue since i dove back to my c-3200 cacko full. I need a pda with my drugbooks, encyclopedia, and Dictionary in place. I am currently looking into purchasing a c-1000 for cacko purpouses and another c-3200 for pdaxii13 rom purpouses besides my c-3200 or maybee a c-3100. Anyhow, I still was not able to get the pretec one working and didnt fiddle with my unit since i had to get back to work and restore the cacko version.

you need to restart the pcmcia service for it to recognise the new settings and reload the drivers
