Same here.  This is my PDA list.

Sharp PC-3x00 (Sharp discontinues a month after I get my units)
Psion series 3a (Psion discontinues it a few years after I buy my first then pulls out of the PDA market)
Palm Tungsten T3 (PDA market begins death spiral and Palm loses market lead to MS)
Sharp Zaurus SL-C1000 and 3200 (Sharp kills the line and focuses on Windows Mobile SmartPhones)

Who shall I mortally wound or kill next?

I think it will be BlackBerry since my boss is insisting that I get one.    

I honestly tried to kill Windows CE in between my Psion and Palm years when I was given one at work but, it's too hard to kill something that is already braindead.    

EDIT: If I do manage to kill the BlackBerry; I am definitely changing my sig to:
"BEHOLD!  I am HoloVector, the Destroyer of PDA platforms.  Tremble before me as I wipe out this market segment!"

With such a track record you could make a good living out of it... getting paid by the mainstream brands just to never buy anything from them :-)

Hi,

everytime I'm more and more interested in nokia devices. They are very hackable, and their effort to make them open and linuxable is noticeable; yesterday they did release a kit to easy porting C OSS to nokia handsets; it's a complex architecture, but the hardware is very good.

On the other had, I have to admit that windows mobile 5/6 is bad, but, given the neverending flow of cash M$ can put/puts on it, and the fact that ~90% of computers are windows powered, at the end they'll make it.

It's a pity but I think that, or the rest of the world goes with an unified effort for pcs/phones or eventually M$ will dominate all fields.

For M$ is just a matter of time given the unlimited cash available; any other company would have go into bankrupcy. It's like an infinite number of monkeys can eventually write the complete W. Shakespeare works.

I think it was only last year that the wince division in its 10 (or more?) years of history had a positive income. It is all the more astonishing when you take into account that for the last few years it has hardly any competition, Psion has long since left the market and Palm is floundering along. It lends weight to my suspicions that M$ had all along been paying manufacturers to use wince

As we all "know", Sharp pulled the plug with the "last" production
run for February...

Now the fun part begins: We tried to order some more (because
with the "end of the line" sales increased big time). The answer
was "OK". Box came. Produced March 2007 (!)

Talked with the Sharp sales droid, WT* is going on ??
Sales droid : "How many do you need for April and forecast for
May ?"

No, we have no idea what the hell is going on at Sharp.
We got no explanation and (even if we got some info how long
they plan to continue) we won't comment this further.
For now, we expect everything. From out-of-stock tomorrow up
to a new model announcement next week.
Or maybe the rumor was just strategic to get rid of stock for the
new SL-C4000XL with 3D holographic XGA, toaster interface,
GSM, WiFi and bottle opener...

We don't know what kind of game they're playing, but for today
we can only confirm that fresh manufactured Zauri are available.
