When I build the kernel, I embeded pxa into it so I don't have any module related to pxa. I don't understand what happened to you. Could you try it again with this mplayer in my blog which may be same as yours. ( http://yonggun.tistory.com/54 )

Well, I used mplayer from angstrom feeds, maybe that's my problem. I will try yours, as soon as I'm at home. Thanks!

Well, I managed ot install everything from the tarball, and fixed everything mentioned as fixes, so I don't think there will be any difference.

Also, I've noticed mouse moving around when i hold the stylus down, which is annoying as not always it clicks  

Also - can you tell me in brief how I can compile modules under zaurus debian ... what needs to be patched and what to be downloaded and so on ... i only built kernel modules so far under slackware  plain kernel ... nothing like this now.

Well, videos play very well on my setup (using my rootfs tarball with 2or0's mplayer package preinstalled).
I just follow 2or0's instructions:
QVGA videos: mplayer -vo pxa -vm FILE
VGA videos: mplayer -vo pxa -fs FILE

I'm not sure  Well, I will redownload and reinstall it again ... i did exactly as mentioned ... but something may gone wrong, no idea what.

3. Under console - I get a lot of ugly messages when something hardware-specific happens - SD card ejected/plugged in and so on. I tried disabling at /etc/syslog.conf but no success.

This can be fixed in the /etc/default/klogd. Replace default value of the KLOGD with this one:

KLOGD="-x -c 4"

Where 4 is an error level and can be one of the following:

0: KERN_EMERG, system is unusable
1: KERN_ALERT, action must be taken immediately
2: KERN_CRIT, critical conditions
3: KERN_ERR, error conditions
4: KERN_WARNING, warning conditions
5: KERN_NOTICE, normal but significant condition
6: KERN_INFO, informational
7: KERN_DEBUG, debug-level messages

11. I uncommented the line in fstab for auto mounting SD cards in /etc/fstab , to me it looks correct ... but nothing happened. Of course - I did 'mount -a' ...

mount -a mounts the card - that's ok. but how to automount on insert ?

Well - I reinstalled debian and tried - mplayer but got illegal instruction once, and cannot open pxa device or sth like this once too, trying with -vo pxa and -vo sdl - none worked

Then I downloaded mplayer + mplayer-common from http://yonggun.tistory.com/54 and got this error that it cannot open /dev/fb2

damn it ... continuing to try ...

The one that came with the rootfs didn't had pxa (only SDL), yours had. Your gave the error with /dev/fb2. Should I recreate it ?


I gave up last night, will continue to try this evening.
