\'First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then, lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.\'

\"Linux League - Episode 2\" is complete.  I\'m trying to get OffRoadGeek\'s e-mail to send it to him.  It will appear in the next Newletter which will likely come out in July.

I spent many hours writing it.  I hope you like it.

\"Up in the sky, it\'s a bird!  It\'s a plane!  No, it\'s Linux League!\"

Linux League - Episode 2

In a white room, with various electronic parts scattered in different bins, a small group of scientists are gathered around an operating table.  Lying on the table is Doctor Tungsten Palm, with severe screen damage from his last encounter with the Brick Crusaders.  The scientists replace the cracked screen, but Dr. Palm isn\'t satisfied.  \"I must have some advantage over the Linux League for my next encounter!\"  The scientists begin to reconstruct Dr. Palm.

Looking in the mirror, Dr. Palm cackles insanely.  He walks over to the nearest window, opens it, and promptly flies out of the room.  One of the scientists has a grim look on his face and wonders what monster he has helped to create.

* Pause for effect, theme music and opening credits *

Meanwhile, in a tall office building, Spark Sent (a.k.a. \"Sparky\"), mild mannered PDA, is taking notes in an executive meeting.  Suddenly, screaming outside interrupts the meeting.  All of the meeting attendants gather to one of the windows and look out at the chaos below.  Behind them, Sparky quietly exits the room.  In the empty hall he quickly goes clamshell and flies out a nearby open window.

Below police officers are rushing people off the streets.  One officer radios something to headquarters.  Minutes later a big \"Z\" is projected onto the clouds above.

In another part of the city, Brick Wayne is sitting at his desk in a large office.  He is addressing various Open Source developers, when he notices the large \"Z\" projected onto the sky (and in daytime no less).  He asks to be excused and leaves the room.  Down the hall he opens a secret door and disappears into it.

At the scene of the crime, Super 860 flies down to one of the officers to ask what the problem is.  \"It was like nothing I\'d ever seen before!  One minute a group of developers from today\'s Open Source convention were walking down the street talking about software they were planning to liberate... and then out of nowhere this clamshell swoops down with a net and carries them away into the sky.  I\'ve never seen anything like it.  He... He kinda\' looked like you, Super 860, only that he was... um... leaner.\"

Another policeman adds: \"He was a clamshell... and he could fly!\"

Super 860: \"But of course! All Clamshells can fly!\"

The officer then pointed in the direction the clamshell flew off to.  Super C860 then flew off in pursuit.

Meanwhile, in the Brick Crusaders\' cave, 5600-boy and 6000-man are working on a huge computer pouring over the evidence in attempts to find more clues.  The giant computer, affectionately named \"L.A.P.T.O.P.\", or Large Anti-Portable Tremendous Over-kill Processor, says \"processing complete\" and dumps a few pages of paper onto the cave floor.

6000-Man: Laptop!  Not on the cave floor!
5600-boy: Holy Antique Brick Man!

Back at the city, Super 860 catches up to the new evil menace, whose slow flight had gotten him only about 1 mile outside the city before Super 860 had caught up.  Super 860 swooped past the sluggish flying clamshell, tearing the net of developers away from his clutches.  Super 860 gently places the developers on the ground, salutes them, and then flies back towards the clamshell.  One of the developers announces: \"That Super 860 is the best palmtop I\'ve ever developed for!\"

Super 860 eyes his new nemesis: an identity spying camera, WiFi, and clamshell design.  Super 860 had never seen anything like it... and yet something looked familiar...  \"Dr. Tungsten Palm?\".  \"Once maybe... now I\'m am called...  The Joke®!\".  The Joke®\'s camera eyes Super 860, seeing through his disguise.  â€œSparky?”  Super 860, again caught off guard, doesn\'t know what to say.  Joke® begins transmitting Super 860\'s revealed identity to some unknown recipients.  But before the transmission is completed, Super 860 jams the frequency using his IR beam (didn\'t know your IR port could do so much, did you? =) ).  Then he stuns Joke® by displaying brilliant images at resolutions Joke® could only dream of.  While Joke® was stunned, Super 860 pulled out his batteries.  As the power faded, Joke® gasped \"You\'ll never stop us!  The convention is doomed!   Ha Ha ha ha hhhh...\".  With that, Joke®â€™s screen fades and he falls from the sky... and again cracks his screen.

The convention?  Super 860 quickly types up a warning message to send to the people at the convention.  The message is typed up in a jiffy, thanks to his nice (non-backlit, but who cares?) keyboard, but then Super 860 realizes he has no way to transmit the data!  He has a WiFi-card, but his Super-860 suit doesn\'t have any room to carry it!  So, Super 860 flies back towards the city, and the convention, in the hopes of getting there before it is too late.

In the Brick Cave, the rest of the Linux League has solved the mystery!  Based on previous encounters, the Brick Crusaders discover that Dr. Palm and Evil Wince are secretly working for the \"Restricting Information Acquisition Association\" (R.I.A.A.), (formally known as the K.G.B. before communism fell), under the guise of a legal corporation.  Their goal: To restrict the flow of information in order to maximize on corporate profits, power, and global domination.  Their enemy: Open Source, Freedom of Speech and any teenager with a computer.

From this, the Brick Crusaders determine that the next attack would be at the Open Source convention.  They want to type a message to warn the convention attendees through their built-in WiFi, but without a keyboard it would just take too long to type up.

...So they jump into their carrying case and zoom off to the convention.

At the Open Source convention groups of developers have just finished designing the next generation of super software, when Evil Wince suddenly appears at the stage.  Next to him was a representative of the new EU Patent laws, the RIAA, and behind them an army of lawyers, senators, and various zombies.

Super 860 and the Brick Crusaders arrive just in time to hear Evil Wince speak.

\"You won\'t steal our means of wealth and potential world domination!  We have added patents to the underlying technologies and hardware drivers used by your Open Source software, so you\'ll have to pay us money, and start charging for your software or else you\'ll have to go to jail!  And after you\'ve suffered in prison our lawyers will sue you, your friends, and your family for creating software that supports the copyright reform movements and freedom of information!\"

The developers were struck with fear, and the Linux League didn’t know what to do!

Suddenly, overhead, a temporal vortex opens up and clamshell flies out.  After a moment, with everyone watching him, he declares: \"I am Super Zaurus 10K come from the future to save you from a moment that would change history for evil!\"  The Linux League noticed Super 10K\'s WiFi, BlueTooth, Clamshell design, 2048x1536 holographic imaging screen, neurotransmetic technologies, and other technologies they couldn\'t comprehend!  On cue, 5600-boy declares, in his usual limited speech: \"Holy Star Trek, Brick Man!\"

When you looked at the Super Zaurus 10K you instantly received all of the data and information you were seeking.  The beauty of the world was instantly displayed to each person according to what each person was seeking.

The lawyers cry out: \"Arrest him!  He is violating copyright laws!\"

Super 10K ignores their outbursts and starts to glow.  A loud hum emanates from him.  He flies around the room and suddenly the developers start to glow with new powers.  Just as suddenly as Super 10K appeared, the vortex opens up again and he disappears.

The developers instinctively know what to do.  They use their powers of information and start educating sleeping populace of the dangerous evil reforms underway.  Meanwhile, the RIAA and Wince lawyers start arresting and suing thousands of the developers and users but the 2nd power the developers were given allows them to replicate themselves at blinding speeds.  They couldn\'t be stopped!  Before long, and with the Linux League\'s help, the entire city was involved in the movement...

100 years in the future a child is standing in front of a large memorial of 2 flying clamshells and 2 valiant bricks.  She turns to her dad and says, \"Dad, what is this here for?\"  \"This is a tribute to a turning point in history which lead to our freedom.\"  The father holds up his Zaurus watch and the child instinctively holds up her Zaurus watch to his.  A small beep is heard and then the child lowers her hand.  She looks at her watch and instantly all of the information pertaining to this story - images, video, audio, text, and other - light up the neurons in her brain.  A minute later, after the process was complete.  The child turns to her father, smiles, and says \"I understand.\"

They turn and walk away down a path.  All around them many other people are sharing dreams, visions, beautiful concepts and ideas with the means of the Zaurus watches they also have on their wrists.  Now in the distance, you can hear the child singing her favorite song... and no one stops her.

She, like the rest of them, is free.

Meanwhile, in a nearby building, Open Source Scientists begin the design for the latest Zaurus:  The Zaurus 10K.

Why catapult a BRICKED 6000 user?  I mean the poor bastard already bought the wrong machine, spent too much, and toasted it??

A catapult would seem like FUN  in comparison...Now perhaps telling them to UPGRADE to a 5000D would be more fun for us, and annoying for them.

Probably why the poor (illegitimate offspring) went out & got *bricked* in the first place, no? (G)

Ohhhhhh. Youre evil! I LIKE that in a person (G). But if the poor sod is well and TRUELY *bricked*, they probably wouldn\'t even notice the catapult ride. And the upgrade suggestion might make sense to them.

Lets just give them a Palm Pilot. The frustration alone should do them in (or sober them up one). Or even better, lets give them all Etch-a-Sketchs and tell them theyre laptops! (credits - Dilbert) (G)

Oh that\'s good. Let\'s just give them Clie\'s, oops, they\'re obsolete, lets not.

I can\'t help but feel pride in these Flame Wars which I have been a small part of, we have concentrated the minds of a malicious few and given let to such spite, it makes me smile inside... and laugh, oh how I laugh...      Everything is proceeding as I have forseen... ha ha ha haaa!

Make sure you notice the new ZUG logo, the C series bearing Tux is obviously bigger, stronger, more powerful and a bit more cerebral and sophisticated than the puny Tux\'s with bricks..  are they children? children with toy bricks? I think offroadgeek is a secret spite monger like us and thinks the C series is the king of all Z\'s, trying to play the cool independent, but we know.. we know...
