OpenZaurus 3.5.1 comes in three flavours:

    * Bootstrap-Image: For special purposes, no GUI environment installed
    * Opie-Image: Preinstalled with the Qt/Embedded based Open Palmtop Integrated Environment
    * GPE-Image: Preinstalled with the X Window based G Palmtop Environment

Yes, there are 3 images, Opie, GPE and a barebones one from the looks of the above (from the news page).

Sounds great,

Anything I should know before I attempt to shoehorn it onto my new 5600?

I got round to setting up the oe development environment on Friday but haven't had time to play with it yet.

@Hrw: What have you done to the fpu? That's a lot faster.

lardman: I? Our GCC mastah Kergoth (let his name be known forever) looked into GCC 3.4.x code so we now do "soft-float" fpu operations instead of using kernel "hard-float" method which was much slower.

This boost is greatest thing we got from using new GCC instead of old crappy 2.95.3 which should be forgotten by all (especially by Sharp engineers).

OK, I'm confused.  I have an 860.  I was under the impression that this was called the Boxer.  When I first got it I thought it was a huskey, but I was corrected by various folks and told it was the boxer.

When I go to the download site for 7x0 & 8x0,  there isn't a boxer image.

What is the name for my 860 ? ? ? ?

(PS any why all these dogs names?  it just confuses the issue)

C860 is same as C760 so we decided to not make diff between them.

Use C760 images.

Care to say when the GPE version will be ready? It will breath new life into my SL5500. I hope.
