Hi all I am selling my C1000 as I never use it and have bought an MSI Wind.

For sale, I have:

Sharp Zaurus SL-C1000 In the original box with
Charger
USB Host Cable
USB PC Link Cable (This may not be the original one but it is tested and works)
Stylus
Manual
CD

Also included:

1GB CF card
Blue Monkey Bluetooth CF Card
Spectrum Wireless CF Card (I Believe this to be faulty, you may have more luck with it than me though so I will include it anyway)
Spare 3.7V 1700mAh Battery

The Zaurus is about 2/3 years old and has a few scratches and a crack in the plastic by the Jog Wheel but is in full working order

I am looking for around £50 + postage for this but am open to offers (74USD, 58Euro) + Postage to where you are which we can discuss at the time.

I will ship world wide (From the UK) but the postage will reflect that.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Sl-c1000/c3100 Rc12 Test

A couple of things I have run in to.

1. For some reason, the system utils stop opening. I have no idea what causes this but shortly after the flash (and installing some IPKs) I could not open anything in the system menu.

2. Snes9x is throwing up a strange error. when first installed it says it can't find libstdc++.so.5 (dgen throws up the same error btw) so I look on the list in package manager see that libstdcxx is installed. I uninstall it and reinstall it. Dgen then quite happily works (yay) but snes9x now says it can't find libstdc++.so.6 and I have no idea where I can get that.

I use the Z for work so I have switched back to RC11 for the week. Will play with RC12 more next weekend.

xrandr bug..
Quick fix is reset xrandr mode:

xrandr -s 0

Tks Sashz. I've added this in xinitrc.xfce4 and it works.

Is the bug RC12 specific? (I didn't have such in RC10 and RC11). If so, can/will it be fixed in the official release?

Fatty, did you have xrandr working under RC11? If so how? I can't get it to work at all

new rc for C1000 will ready today-tomorrow :-)
New XServer with xrandr support, iwmmx optmization for ffmpeg, mplayer and vlc, new optimized SDL etc:) arghm and beta version Quake2 too.

Sorry to bump my own post but it is with good reason....I fixed it

Believe it or not, SDL or one of it's dependencies does not like it when you resize the root partition.

I reflashed and reset the root partition to the reccomended 58Mb and it all works perfect...

Anyway, I posted the soloution on here for anyone else that gets this problem.

I might have some more info and be closer to the soloution.

I am still getting the problem but I think it is down to SDL.

I did a fresh install, installed firefox, rebooted and it was fine.

I then installed VLC which uses SDL and rebooted. Bang, it was dead.

So this time I reinstalled the ROM and just installed the SDL files. It died again on a reboot.

On another note, I have also reized my partition to 121Mb

Anyone got any further ideas?

I have had to reflash my Z a few times now due toi this problem. The first two times were after I had quit to the shell and tried to run a SDL program such as Znester.

This time, however, my Z just hung and when I rebooted it came up with the error.

Error reads:

#startx
Loading /etc/sysconfig/keyboard/kernel.map
Imageon_iniscreen()
:Bad file descriptor


Fatal server error:
no screens found
XIO:  fatal IO error 104 (connection rest by peer) on X server ":0.0"
         after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining.

Anyone got any ideas?

Anyway,  off to reflash I go *sigh*

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Xmms, Jog Wheel, Sl-c1000\c3100

I would love it if i could control XMMS using the Jog Wheel for Forward/Back for the tracks, and OK and CANCEL as Play/Stop. There was a post from a while ago (Old Post) on the board about creating a wrapper, but that never worked for me on my SL-C1000, and i followed the instructions religiously, i'm runing RC11 now.

It does work, just make sure you have clicked inside the playlist box before you close the lid. then jog up and down scrolls through the tracks and ok will play the track you wish.

Ok, been running the latest version for a day or so now, and am suitably impressed

I have most programs I want running and most of my hardware (the USB host works perfectly with my flash drive )

Only things I have noticed are:

The Fn+1 and Fn+2 to change the screen size doesn't work (dunno if I have missed something there)

and my Bluetooth card freezes the Zaurus as soon as I plug it in.

They are just small niggles though. Keep up the great work guys

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Can't Get Snes9x To Run

Hi,

Hop you guys can help

I have downloaded and installed snes9x from the feed at http://zaurus.spy.org/feeds/davonz/ which all went fine. I went to run it and I get the error :

error while loading shared libraries: libqpe.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Now I did some searching to find that this is suppost to live in /opt/QtPalmtop/libs/ so I went looking only to find that the directory in question doesn't exsist (/opt/QtPalmtop/ does but there is no libs directory in there).

Anyway I went looking for somewhere to download that library from and can't find it anywhere. I was hoping that someone might have an idea where I can get it.

Also on a seperate note, this probably isn't the right place to post this but I will add it in to the end of this and hope someone can help. I am still new to the Zaurus. I know how to install files that end in .ipk, but I have no idea how to install or what to do with files that have no extension (in particular dgen). Any help here would also be greatly appriciated.

Sorry I have a very bad habbit of being vauge at times with replies...this is one of those times. I was meaning I look forward to being able to use the USB host for USB storage devices, thats the only real use I have for it at the moment.

Just got my C1000 today and flashed it to this ROM straight away.

Everything seems to be fine for me apart from I can't get the silkscreen buttons to do anything at all.

Great ROM none the less, looking forward to the version that will allow me to use the USB host support.

On the subject of wifi, my LA4100 Spectrum24 wifi card worked out the box.

I am yet to try my bluetooth card however, will report back results.

I really want to try the pdaXrom so that is my first port of call (already downloaded it and I don't even have the Zaurus yet lol)

Remote Desktop Control - I was basically looking for something along the lines of a VNC client.

IP Scanning- Not as dodgy as it sounds. In my line of work I could use something that will scan an IP range and tell me which IPs return a ping request.
