Windows Issues / Old Palm Data
« on: August 17, 2003, 05:51:13 pm »
If you were using Palm Desktop to synic with your m505, there is no straight route to get your data to Outlook.  I just had to do this for my wife, she lost her Visor Edge and I to move everything over to Outlook for her new Dell Handheld (She did not want a \"Z\").

To move everything over is two step proccess.
1.) Create a Email accout with Yahoo, if you don\'t have one already.  Under the Address Book tab is an import/export link.  Follow the instructions for importing from Palm Desktop.  Note - Because my wifes concact list was large, I had to split the importing into chucks.
2.) Once everything is in, use the export to Outlook link to create a CVS file.  Once you have your file on your PC, use the import fuction in Outlook to bring your info in.

I guess it\'s real more the 2 steps, but you get the idea.  You can do the same for calendar and the notes.

Good Luck

Accessories / screen protectors
« on: July 08, 2003, 03:29:44 pm »
I looked around for screen protector for my 5500.  Knowing that you can\'t run out to CompUSA and get something just for the 5500, I discovered that the Sony SJ20 and the 5500 have the same size screen.  A co-work of mine has a SJ20 and gave me one of his screen protector; and, BOOM, I am loving life.

Fixed new issue.  Cradle works at work and wifi works at home.  All is right in the world.

New Issue.

I hooked up the cradle via USB to my computer at work.  Hitting the button on the cradle, I am able to sync; but, I can\'t sync from the PC to the 5500 using the Intellisync.  Any ideas?

OK, I got it to sync.  The trick is the \".1\"
I had to move a lot of syuff around.  Wife got a little upset when I had to change the IP settings on her computer.  She\'s from the \"if it\'s not broke...\" school.

This would be a great PDA if I can get it to sync.
