Cxx0 Hardware / Omg Its Alive!1 C760
« on: January 06, 2006, 01:45:05 am »
I had purchased a bricked c760 (2 bad NAND blocks) for the screen. I did swap out the screen to use for my c700 and I put this one aside..

I found out how to fix the screen so I put it on the bricked c760. I decided to tinker around with it and I did a NAND erase and was able to flash it back. So now the c760 that I thought was bricked is working!

This is great! the c760 works so much faster than my c700 (stupid PXA250 processor..    )

The C700 runs the PXA250 which was known to have a memory bug that was restricting access of full speed of the memory..

C750 and above use the PXA255 chip which fixed that problem..

I have an MPEG4 file that I want to watch on my C860

If I put it on my SD Card then it plays no problem

If it is on mt CF card it doesn't play - however I can play it from the CF card using Mplayer.

Any thoughts people?

David
interesting..

what version of Kino 2 are you using? What ROM?

I only took pics of the motherboard, there are no pics of the screen and the other PCBs around the screen.

you can find the pictures here. I resized them so they would fit on my webspace. If you would like the full size pic just PM me.

what would be cool is if you write up a page in the how-to section (wiki) and add the pictures there...

i can help you with this if you'd like
When I get a chance over the weekend I'll write up something

EDIT: I'm gonna try with 50MB partition

EDIT(2): OK.. I tried with the 50MB partition and it worked but now all I get is a flashing cursor and Tux.

I did 50 with rc1 and it worked...  the install went to 37mb
I think someone tried 40 and it worked.

the install is still not the final product... but you can use 1.0.5 to get the menu to
repartition, etc.

I hear people saying "120" (121?) is good for 750.

I'm not sure, I may do 64 or 96 or 120 on my 760.

Scott
120? on c750?  I dont think that's possible.. seeing how the c700/c750 has only 64MB of space..
I thought it really has 128, and that the original sharp roms just blocked 64megs for themselves. And  Xpda dosen't do that-- so you should be able to get one giant root partition for the whole ~128 megs. At least, that's how I've read things.

I could be wrong though.
you know what .. you're probably right

I know the C700 is only 64MB

General Discussion / How to get Wireless CF cards to work
« on: August 18, 2004, 12:14:28 pm »
The MA701 should work right out of the box (the Z should detect it right away). If it doesnt then follow these instructions:

this is located in the HOW-TO section of ZUG

http://www.zaurususergroup.com/modules.php...lessCardSupport

go read the "other cards" section if your card is not recognized as soon as you plug it in.

Do you need help on how to setup a wireless connection and/or how to connect to an AP?
