Zaurus - pdaXrom / Located In Uk?
« on: March 28, 2007, 07:22:57 pm »
My girlfriend is currently doing a survey about in-store TV in UK and she is lacking responses in her survey so if your living in the UK could you please take the time to answer this survey?

http://212.10.30.234/sprgskema/index.php?sid=71281

Sorry for being off-topic but I was getting punished by my girlfriend because not enough people did participate in her survey - so if you know anyone living in the UK please also make them fill out the survey

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Important Update...
« on: June 12, 2006, 04:10:51 pm »
Sash has got a job and will be spending sometime on getting settled in with the new job and stuff so there might be a small development stop during the next 2-3 weeks.

After that all should be back to normal.

Once more i would like to remind everybody about the need for donations for hadware and help keep pdaXrom on the track. The new job will no cause pdaXrom development delays - but at the same it will not pay for anything on pdaXrom development.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / A Big Problem... (deleted)
« on: April 29, 2006, 06:30:33 pm »
Both Sash, hrw, koen + more are acting like children...

So lets try and stay calm.

Its true there are hacks/patches from each the different distros in the other distros. So now lets calm down.

- OZ/OE people please refrain from posting about whats better/fixed in OZ in pdaXrom related threads - your inputs and solutions are always nice. Also please don't blame our and tell bad things about in forums or IRC - sometimes we read the IRC logs and don't like it.

- Sash stop behaving like a child - yes you do great work and you know i love it. But that doesn't allow you to act like a 7 year old. If you have any problems and think pdaXrom needs som credit or something lets us talk with the OZ people in private IRC etc.

The only thing we get from these public arguments is that the regular user thinks the Zaurus future is going down the drain.

OZ/OE: Sash has the uboot working and its pretty much fixed - so lets talk and see what it gives us.

Ps. I like both distros and use them...

Google pulled the plug on our deal with them - they said we where cheating (maybe we where - we did encourage you guys to look at what our advertisers had to offer).

Anyway just a quick shoutout so people don't think anything is borked 100% - its only 90% :-)

Zaurus - pdaXrom / !!! READ THIS !!!!
« on: January 22, 2006, 01:43:00 pm »
Hey everybody...

I (Laze) has finally managed to get a week holliday and I will spend it all on pdaXrom project - so together with Sash we hope to make great progress in this week.

First off I will be spending most of my time on the long overdue new website with better CMS system and developer sections with blogs and IPK upload and more.

But Sash will try and slowdown on new features and instead try to fix bugs :-) So this is where you come in - please take a look at the buglist on pdaXrom.org and tell us if you have any extra info/comments etc. to any of the bugs and post them.... BUT!!!!

We have decided that our current biggest problems is the suspend related problems so lets start out with them in this thread. So please post your Zaurus type, CF/SD card inserted, AC Adapter plugged in etc. and we will try and fix - please also use the IRC on freenode, #cacko (yes its cacko, we know its confusing).

So basically lets get the suspending problem out of the way and look at the next bug then (but if you know a bug is fixed or how to fix a bug on the buglist please post that too ;-)

Quick news from the labs in Russia and Denmark:

Rom wise:
XServer will updated for Tosa Akita and Collie in next release, SL-C3100 support will added in next RC for Akita devices.

New live CD for ROM developers (with installed cross tools), current liveCD only for core developers.

Also preparing "pdaXrom/dance" Sashz new simple embedded GUI for small devices with small screens.
It already works on x86, arm, sh-4 and h8 CPUs, and support generic linux framebuffer, linux keyboard,
touchscreen mouse emulation, sega dreamcast framebuffer, sega keyboard, sega joustick, sega keyboard,
cybiko LCD controller, cybiko keypad.

For embedded devices with limited ROM/flash it use simple singletask monitor. For embedded targets its uses gcc xchain with newlib.

Website
The new website with a completely new CMS built from scratch is almost done. The new design/look of the website will be implemented tonight hopefully. The first "prototype" will hav full web editor for content editors and image upload - this will probally be ready tomorrow evening.

Then the comment function, bug reporting system and bounty system will probally be next. And the feeds with developers havin g 100% control for updating and editing. We will probally also make it so that the sources for the ipks can be uploaded for each - this should help people trying to compile a newer version etc.

We will also be making a news/blog section where our main developers will be posting news - and if our developers have the time we hope to make IRCs sessions for developers and "education/turtorials" online.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Bugreporting!
« on: August 12, 2005, 03:04:58 am »
When you found a bug/problem/hardware entry please post them on the www.pdaXrom.org bugreporting system. We can't keep reading every forum item for bug reports when we are working on fixing bugs.

And as always for us to make any progress we need money/banner clicks.

Sorry for the bad post but often Sash is working offline and our bugreporting system is cable of making a download able list for him.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / A Plea For Help..
« on: March 22, 2005, 05:32:13 am »
I hate to do this but we are as always running short off cash in the pdaXrom team. The reason is that almost all Sash living expenses are paid for by the donations. But everytime we are a little quiet with releases and information the donations and banner clicks stops almost totally.

Could everybody thats happy with the pdaXrom consider donating just a little sum or maybe click the banners a couple of times please do this? Based on the traffic we have plenty of users but not many clicking the banners or donating.

Silence from our team is a good thing - its means big things are on the way. Sash is currently working on many different platforms and fixing bugs like mad. Beergeek is looking into improving many of the applets/utilites.

We have almost completed and is soon ready to released the entire new completely documented and much improved builder system and sources etc.

So please, please donate and if you can't afford to donate just click-away on the banners..

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Status From Pdaxrom Team.
« on: March 16, 2005, 09:31:27 am »
Hey everybody.. After a long time with no or little news from us we are happy to inform you that we are busy working on new stuff.

1. The new web server hardware is probally going to be installed tomorrow and the I (Laze) can start testing different web setups etc.

2. The developers have been busy trying many different things (like new window managers) but they are now back on track - the plan is to finish the 1.1.0 before making any big changes to the pdaXrom. So we are now working on fixing all the bugreports and pending issues. When that is done we will start work on the different platforms like 300,5000, 6000 series - we can't guarentee anything but as always money/hardware donations helps us and then again helps you. (btw. banner clicks are good too :-)

/ Laze on behalf of the team.
