GPD - Linux OS / Multi-boot Linux/Android from USB?
« on: March 14, 2018, 03:51:26 pm »
I have a GPD Win that should be here in about a week and I was wondering if anyone had set up a USB drive with multiple OS options?  I have a couple of low profile flash drives that would seem to be perfect for this, as they would barely stick out in back.  Any links would be appreciated.  Also, do the distro links out there for the Pocket work on the Win?

I don't want to partition and install Linux or Android directly, as I will probably pass this device on to one of my kids once I get my Gemini in hand and set up to dual boot.

C1000/3x00 General discussions / Compatible Sl-5000 Programs?
« on: May 08, 2006, 03:05:25 pm »
My new Zaurus arrived Saturday morning (yay!!! my Axim can go on eBay now) and I have been busy assembling the programs I think I'll use most often.  Is there a list anywhere that shows which older programs work with the clamshell Zs? I've been going mainly to http://www.killefiz.de to look around.

One program called Shufflewords is behaving very badly, locking up on me, zsoduku won't install at all and Qpdf only starts in portrait mode and supposedly there is a Rotate somewhere - the icon on the side like an open book?

How long does the average non-linux-geek wait before trying other roms?  While I often try out live Linux distros, I don't really know what each one is best at and use Win2k at home, XP, VMS and Solaris Unix at work.  I want to be able to use perl, emacs, bash, tcl and sqlite with Firefox and Freecell.  I do watch videos a few times a week on my Axim but A/V needs aren't the major factor.  I also have a CF wifi card I need to pull out and try but that can wait if need be.  I'd say scripting is the biggest thing for me right now.

I'm also a little scared about how fragile the screen connector feels.  Any hints to avoid trouble later on?

Thanks,

Terry

p.s. I haven't been this happy with a pda since my HP 100LX!
