Ubuntu / Howto: How Do I Restore A Zubuntu Installation Back To Cacko 1.23?
« on: September 12, 2010, 11:15:00 am »

So, care to say why you decided to switch back to Cacko? Besides ubuntu, have you tried other ROM's??

I decided to switch back to Cacko 'cos I was not able to dual boot with Cacko-Zubuntu.
Main thing is that I had to have something working.  I've tried pdaXrom, OE, Hentges (hard to spell!) and others to varying degrees.

In future, I may retry Zubuntu when I have the time.

I had an SL4 years back ... was sweet and had a PCCARD running with wifi.  Make sure you check that the chipset is supported.  Try search for some of my earlier posts.  I think there were posts regarding wifi CF and PCCard cards.

Are you running OE on it or Opie or Angstrom?

Md5 is an unique hash string output of an input.  The binary file (sharp_mmcsd_m.o) in this case serves as the input to the md5 app.  Each binary file is supposed to have a unique hash output.  md5 hash is used to ensure the validity of the binary file.

Just popped in.  Didn't read your question.
Hope you got yours working.  I had the tetsu driver thingie, so I was able to use a 4gb sdcard.  SD cards with 4gb storage is supposed to be uncommon.  Got a transcend.

Anyway, more good news.  https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showto...mp;#entry184671

Install the driver update to support SDHC cards in Cacko and SHARP rom.  I just did and am now using a 16gb sdhc card in Cacko 1.23.  Time to update my signature!

Sad to have one more zaurus user go.  Hope you find a good owner for your akita.

As you can see, I am in the same situation as you are in.  One Akita and one collie.

Just as I was going to bed! Now I must install this driver and replace my 4gb sd with the 16gb sdhc.

So I need to uninstall the tetsu driver?

EDIT:

It turned out easier than I thought.  Ran the ipk file from konsole.  No errors.  Rebooted, 16gb sdhc detected and running.  It has a super long stream of crazy debug msg at boottime.  Otherwise, running 5 by 5.

Edit:
Oh and, that will be one more reason for me to let my akita stay on Cacko and not zubuntu.  I'm just lazy ...

OT: I just checked my akita and its batt is at 43%.  I left it closed/suspended for like a week or two without charging and yet it only lost so little batt.  Is this normal?

My netbook is serving me well so far.  Just restored my akita.  Wondering what to do with it.  Am using a 2nd hand 'smartphone' for PIM and notes.

Tempted with tablets ... where is gadget Nirvana??
