Hi, pulled out my Z after a long time to try Zubuntu 2.0, and I like it!
Anything new on the illegal instruction problem?

apt-get upgrade fails when trying to update bash due to an illegal instruction.

@jon_j: I have the same card and had the same problem: here I what I did to get it work.

1. get the modules which work: Orinoco does the job, while hostap/hermes don't, so add the following lines to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist:
blacklist hostap_cs
blacklist hostap
backlist hermes

2. If you don't reboot, unload hostap with rmmod

3. next time you put your card in it should be attributed eth0, so set it up in /etc/network/interfaces

4. to avoid the problem with dhcp, set it up with static ip: for example

iface eth0 inet static

5. ifup eth0

6. if it still doesn't work, check that /etc/resolv.conf points to your router's ip. For example:

Hope this helps

Thank you very much Cortez for this great release.
I am especially impressed by the speed, even on my cheap sd card. Much better than Andromeda.

As for problems, I have the same as Jon_J with the modules.

Someone asked in another thread for music writing software.  Where is he?

That's me! There is denemo for composing + a bunch of stuff for midi playback in debian, but a nice do-it-all app for qt would be nice

Dear cortez, sorry for late feedback.

I tried the image on my sl-c3200, I let the updater do its work and when I came back I was booted into Poky.
The problem was, there was no android directory in the home folder....

Maybe something went wrong during the updater process and I wasn't there to see the error output? (out of space maybe?)

I hope to have time to try again soon.

Best regards,

if only it had no joysticks and more keys instead... The fact that it does not "look" serious means I can't use it many places.

Could anyone point me to a working/recent version of qtrdesktop?
The link from ELSI doesn't work.

EDIT: OK I found one:

Is this the most recent?

I only got mine to work with orinoco.

Strangely, after a few times the card would try to load with hostap and fail.

What I did was turn off the card, rmmod hostap_cs hostap, and put it back in, and it would work.
(And strangely I only had to do it once.)

I have been messing around with browsers on my Z under debian, and I have found that "Arora" (based on Qt4 + webkit) is very good.
Much faster to launch than firefox + support for javascript working.

Would it be possible to get os2008 and its cool maemo stuff running on the Z?
Here are the links to the rootfs:
