Belkin bluetooth card is supposed to be working. If you have such card, let me know, you'll get to test it.

I have bought one on ebay. It should arrive in the next couple of days... I would me more than happy to test... ( although I will also need a bluetooth enabled phone, which I do not have yet...)

Since I am quite a newbie with the C3100, I would need exact instructions how to test ( what logs to look for etc.)

Another idea: I may get a bluetooth mouse and / or keyboard and / or bluetooth printer adapter soon. I could also use that to test. Need to check ebay for prices... Maslowsky, should any/all of these work as well? If yes, I order them...

What's the status of Cacko 1.23?  What still needs to be done on it?

Can I be a beta tester please? On SL-C860 (yeah, I know, I'm in the wrong part of the forum, but I'm a wannabe 3100 owner).
Gemini 4G/Wi-Fi owner, formerly zaurus C3100 and 860 owner; also owner of an HTC Doubleshot, a Zaurus-like phone.

1.23 doesn't not run on older models yet. It will be ported a little bit after the release.

It's refreshing to see such a professional approach to the release, Anton.  I think your approach is absolutely right as it'll mean less hassle for everyone (including you) and less posts that can be answered with "have you applied patch xyz.3.1.2 to it?  You need that for the version released between noon and 2pm on Tuesday..."

I'm new to the Z world, and not terribly great with linux stuff yet, but if there's anything I can do then please let me know.  I'm thinking of documentation, etc...

Finally, is there any "getting started at ROM building" guide that you could use?  It seems that there's only a handful of people actively involved in ROM development so it would be good to spread the knowledge: it might make things easier, as long as it doesn't fragment the community - I think with Cacko and pdaxrom, we have enough ROM options as it stands

uhm... 'older models?' should we, zaurus veterans, the ones who trusted on zauries first, be taken in so bad consideration ... (snif)

just kidding and waiting for the new release .....
sl-c750, archos av580, socket cf [bt, wifi, modem], noname cf lan, audiovox rtm800 gsm-gprs cf, rom: sharp -> oz3.5.3 -> cacko -> oz3.5.4.1

I developed a big beaming grin on reading this! You're a busy man, Anton, what with Z hardware modifications, Cacko development and all. Thanks!

Actualy I decided to give it a try and... C7x0/C860 Zauriies will be supported too  There will be some minor differences mostly in hardware support due to older kernel version (2.4.28 vs 2.4.20), but most of the features of 1.23 ROM will be present.

Perhaps it's because there's no hard disk in the C1000

More seriously, don't try to use ROMs from other machines on your machine.  In this day and age, you probably won't "brick your zaurus"  (ie turn it into an expensive, shiny brick) but it won't work properly.

Wait for the C1000 release/beta of Cacko...  I'm sure it'll be worth it.

If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will shout me down, but I don't think the C1000 beta is out yet.

Just keeping the thread alive... It's been 2 weeks since I last asked when it would be out...

I've gotten pdaXrom + XFCE4 + ROX desktop working, and that's been nice...

I guess Maslovsky is pressed for time these days.

Happy happy!
