Hello everyone!  Greetings from Taipei, Taiwan.  I\'m here this week doing some new product scoping for the company I work at.  I\'ve taken over the product marketing and management for a software/platform called Nevo (http://www.mynevo.com).  Currently it\'s an embedded software solution for the HP iPaqs (Yes, Yes.. I know it\'s Winbl0ze CE .NET - but it\'s been a good move for me) and we\'re going to be expanding the solution relatively soon.

In regards to the community site -
I\'ve been helping my ex-coworker with the backup of data.  Even though I\'m not working for Sharp anymore - I do see it as a shame if all the information was lost in the great abyss.  My ex-coworker should now have the data available and I\'m sure he\'d be more than glad to allow someone to host it.  If you\'re interested in assisting - drop me an email at spencerhuang AT hotmail DOT com.  I\'d prefer not to publish his email on the board without his knowledge.

Hi Spencer!  Glad to hear you\'re well.  I just emailed you about the hosting... I would love to get my hands on that data and make it available to everyone

Enjoy Taiwan and be well!

What gives?  Maybe it\'s just an anti brit thing

Well, I\'m in California and have the same problem: http://66.180.235.229/dev redirects to http://www.sharpusa.com/zaurus.  I also can\'t access any other sharp-supported sites (community.zaurus.com, docs.zaurus.com, lists.zaurus.com, etc.).

Anyway, it should be back up soon (hopefully), but it would be nice if Sharp warned the public before they do stuff like this...

wow... I go on a snowboarding trip to Whistler in Canada and I return to such interesting happenings... I had earmarked a few threads on DevNet and was really looking forward to trying to get a few things on my 5500 working.  It truly would be a shame to lose all of that info, and I really hope that the data is handed to ofrg to host... any news on this?

btw, Whistler is an amazing place.

If you change your host file to point to the 66.x.x.x IP, you should still be able to access the old site.  Retrieve the info just in case ofrdgeek can\'t get the stuff.

BTW I was born and raised in Vancouver and that whole area is amazing.  I live in NYC now.

That Guest message above was from me-

good call, bluedevils.  I read the previous threads in more detail and put the entry in my hosts file, so now I\'m in business.

Am I write in assuming that community.zaurus.com is totally unavailable, or would that take a hosts file entry as well?

Next year - as the Whistler trip is an annual trip for the guys that I went with - I will check out Vancouver as well.  The city looked amazing and I\'m sure that it\'s a lot of fun.

As hinted in the last post, what is the IP address for community.zaurus.com?

Thanks.

I can connect OK to 66.180.235.229 for www.zaurus.com but not to any downloads that are located at community.zaurus.com.  I didn\'t see that anyone had posted the IP adddress to the download location.  Is it completely unavailable or is there another IP address that works?

Hi Spencer, nice to see you again. Good luck to you in your ventures
and thanks once again for your still active interest in the zaurus community and in helping to preserve all the information we gleaned thru the forums.

I think now in hindsight I can say that maybe without you at least, the whole vibrant Zaurus community would not have built up. Not that is has gained a volume, it seems to be able to take care of itself, good. But credits and cheers to you for staring and maintaining the Zaurus.com forums.

(also silent thanks to the previous first zauruszone forum maintainer - who was it I forget).

That IP address works - thanks again, bluedevils.

So, in summary, the following should be added to your hosts file to get to the old devnet and community sites:

66.180.235.229   www.zaurus.com
66.180.235.230   community.zaurus.com

For winblows users, that\'s at ROOT DIR:/WINNT/System32/drivers/etc/

Excellent, although didn\'t fusion94 say that the old servers were getting packed up at some point? Does anyone know what the IP address of docs.zaurus.com was/is? I don\'t think it was on the same subnet. We could do with grabbing all the downloads while the servers are still online.

I had already grabbed all the files at docs.zaurususergroup.com/feed/ and put them on the zug server at zaurususergroup.com/feed/

are there any other files stored on the docs site?

Yes, there are all the ones referenced in the howtos you copied from docs.zaurus.com, such as the RPMs for the cross compiler and some source code examples. They are all listed here:

http://www.zaurususergroup.com/modules.php...ename=Downloads

(There\'s also the dev-arm-* shell scripts too, but I guess loads of people have those)
