ok, so i have been running cacko 1.23 on my 3100 and i love it! it works very nicely.. however, i finally ran into a problem once i reformatted my hdd3 as ext3. (so i can put pocketworkstation on it)
i changed the rc.rofilesys with changed to mount hdd3 as ext3 but no luck. I ended up reflashing cacko and now the rc.rofilesys is an 8 byte file that just says "#exit 0" what happened to rc.rofilesys?? Everything still boots up except for the error in mounting hda3. When i'm in cacko the microdrive light is always flashing and it shows up in 'cardctl info' and i can mount it manually. However it would be nice if it got mounted correctly in the startup...
So here are my questions:
1. Does cacko use the rc-rofilesys file?? (i noticed cacko will still startup fine without so i'm guessing no..)
2. If it doens't use rc-rofilesys then how do i fix my problem above?
3. What are hda1 & hda2 used for?? (i used to have sys & .sys directories but they somehow went away...)
If you still have default partitioning, you're simply wasting some space (approx 30 Mb) in your internal flash. I'd suggest to resise your root partition and reflash the ROM.
4. Why does the space get wasted? If i have 128M of ROM space and i allocate 30 for the root partition where does the rest go??
Thanks so much for a GREAT rom!!
