Now only matching items are displayed in the view.

Perfect

Not had a chance yet, but will have a good play with the notes field import later and post back on sourceforge...

I reckon if you can get the Notes field to import with multiple fields from Outlook nicely, then that would allow many more people to depart from outlook without fear of loosing some data.

To correct the phrase 'Build it and they will come'....

'Post the ScreenShots and they will download'

...come on... it's obligatory and there's only one on the site at the moment.

*LOL*

Counting is difficult, isn't it?
DOH!

OK, Two!

How about a Ka/PI screenshot ? - I think since this is the other major PIM app that people are interested in then it's probably useful.

OpenBSD 4.2 -current on full 4Gb of SL-C3000
Microdrive replaced with 4Gb SanDisk Extreme III card

Question
File resource '/home/zaurus/kdepim/apps/kabc/std.vcf '
has been changed by third party.
Do you want to reload?
[Yes]     [No]

Usually this box pops only up if you use the same physical addressbook file as source for multiple ka/pi resources.

KDE-Pim/Pi 1.9.4 Release
« Reply #33 on: September 11, 2004, 03:39:31 am »
Hi,

I;ve just tried it and I have a couple of things I'd like to add.

Searching addressbook "All fields" used to include the role of a user. In the new release it did not find a relult when I search for a role.
Searching has to be confirmed by pressing return. I found it really nice that it filtered my output on every keypress (so I notice typo's very early, I have a 5000D so a very small keyboard  )

I saw a collegue of mine syncing his addressbook using the syncrhonize functionality in ko/pi. So after setting the addressbook sync info I wanted to try the same on my zaurus. So far no luck. I tried starting ko/pi from the konsole and found no error/debug messages regarding syncing addressbook. Am I missing something here?

Further more I noticed that closing the synchronize settings dialog causes a lot of segfaults (on my zaurus and on the one of my collegue). I did not have this problem with the 1.9.3 release.

Futher more I like where it is going. As said before.... It's the first time in years I can actually use my zaurus

Thanks for all the work...

Hi,

Let me add that (since I'm the colleague in question ).
It seems that the addressbook is synced only if I enable "Include in multiple addressbook sync".

This is somewhat anoying, since I want to sync both at work and at home, but not at the same time. So if I want to sync the addressbook I have to change the synchronize settings, which wil result in the korganizer crash vdkuil also talked about.

For the rest I love kdepim stuff for Z. Good pim stuff makes it hard to forget appointments, and kdepim definitely qualifies as very good pim stuff!

Keep up the good work!

Sorry for the confusion,

but there is no Addressbook syncing at all!

It is not implemented, only the sync settings are there.

After fixing the reported bugs, I will start working on the addressbook syncing.

Thanks for the bug report!

I think, the best solution is, to make searching on return or on every keystroke configurable.

As I wrote as an answer to the other posting:
There is no addressbook syncing available!

hmm.. I was pretty sure I saw some entries in the Z addressbook that where not there before.
I guess my addressbook must have been more complete than I thought...

Thanks for clearing this out.. I'm looking forward to the addressbook sync functionality!

I installed 1.9.4 today - first time install on a Cacko ROM w/C860.  KO/PI and OM/PI start fine from the menu.  KA/PI won't start from the menu - it just hangs there with the little graphic that appears when you click to start something.  I *can* start KA/PI from the command prompt - no problems.  I also tried creating a new mail in OM/PI and then clicking on the 'To' button, which I assume would call KA/PI, but nothing happens.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

That would be really  nice

Thank you for explaining the addressbook sync stuff..  It must have been a "vision" of the new version

Can't wait to try a next release...

Keep up the good work!

I installed KoPi on my C700 and got a reply "This package seems to depend on other packages- please install them too." KoPi won't start. When I tap the button I get an exploding Icon like KoPi is starting, but nothing happens. Same problem with KaPi. I'm using the latest Version of Cacko's ROM. What am I doing wrong here?

In the first posting, you will find:

You need the kmicrokdelibs_1.9.4_arm.ipk as a base for the other programs.

Did you install it?

****************************************************
UPDATE : VERSION 1.9.5 available!
****************************************************

There is still no Addressbook syncing!

New in 1.9.5:

Many bugfixes.
Better mail downloading in OM/Pi.

First experimental alpha version of sync of KO/Pi with mobile phones.
See gammu documentation for supported phones.
You need to install the package kammu_1.9.5_arm.ipk for sync of KO/Pi with mobile phones. kammu_1.9.5_arm.ipk needs libbluetooth and libsdp.
Quick hint how to use:
NOTE: MOBILE PHONE SYNC IS EXPERIMENTAL!
Install kammu_1.9.5_arm.ipk , libbluetooth and libsdp.
Create syncprofile - mobile device
Remove entry for model. (Leave empty ).
Enable infrared on Zaurus and your Phone.
Sync.
To get a more detailed log, start kopi from konsole.

Hi Zautrix

yes I tried to install it first, but I get the response "IPKG says something went wrong" or something like that, and then closes

Just had a play with 1.9.5 KAddressbook...

Excellent.

Still does not seam to want to save config. settings, so editing the file by hand instead for now and that works fine.

Searching is excellent. Could not ask for more.

I have a fairly small address book (100 or so entries), so like having the option of searching immediately. Nice and quick, wildcards works well...

The search on return should work well for those with large addressbooks.

All I need now is the ability to import multi line fields and multiple fields to single Notes fields (See suggestions in sourceforge). That would take care of the extra fields in Outlook

Likely to happen at some point. Or don't like the idea ?
