Also this card needs firmware to be downloaded:

I wasn't able to get hold on such card before 1.22 release, so aall this was not included in the ROM.

Do you have any more information on this?  Where do you get the hex files required to flash the card?  i haaven't had any luck getting this card working.

I did manage to get the primary flash install, however on the secondary i get:

Great upgrade.  Looks really nice and I like the new Wireless Monitor.

A couple of things, though.

1.) I'm using an Ambicom WL1100C-CF wireless card.  Why does the auto-connect feature need to be disabled?

2.) During the install, using 27MB for the root partition is insufficient.  I had to set it to about 32MB.  Perhaps this has already been addressed, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

3.) Kino2 still acts a little weird.  I recorded a program on my Mac using EyeTV.  It records in MPEG-4 format.  I had it export the recording so it could be viewed over the web.  On Kino2 in Cacko 1.21b, I got a small picture in the lower left corner, garbage elsewhere, and no sound.  When I looked at the file info, nothing was listed under Audio.

Now under the new ROM, I don't get video or audio.  I just get a small green square in the middle of the screen and nothing else.  However, the file info does show audio information.  Here's what Kino2 says about this file:

Video-
Size: 240x180
Codec: mp4v
Bitrate: 0
FPS: 15

Audio-
Codec: faad
Rate: 44100
Bitrate: 128000
Channels: 2

I don't know why the video bitrate is listed as 0.  This file does play well on my Mac using Quicktime and Windows Media Player.

I was looking into using DiVA to convert this file to MPEG-1 or 2, but I cannot find an option for that.  I suppose I can upgrade to Quicktime Pro and do the conversion there, though.  However, I'm wondering why I had video in the old version and now I get a green blob.  Any ideas?

1.  I'm not sure on this one maybe Maslovsky can explain.

2.  This is usually due to bad sectors on internal flash.

3.  Can you upload the video to this page:

The autoconnect feature doesn't seem to be compatible with the new wireless drivers used in 1.22 ROM.

This is very unusual. In rare cases people had to allocate 28 Mb for the root partition, but in your caes it looks like you have some serious problems with your NAND flash chip. Did you actualuy try all of the options between 27 and 32 Mb?

You need to upload this video (or part of it) as stupkid has mentioned. We'll take a look ti it.

DO you have a list of really supported codecs? That way we know what to encode in, and what to expect not to work natively

another observation concerning the backlight bug:
When using the Z in lowest brightness setting and suspending it thus, the led will switch off on resume. At least mine does reproduceably.

All codecs supported by mplayer should work, BUT not all of them work well on Zaurus. The best option for video encoding is using DivX 5 if you care about the size. Otherwise use MPEG1 or MPEG2.

OK, then it's a well known issue, which I don't have a solution (unfortunately). Like I explained - the brightness applet was ported from Qtopia 1.6.2 GPL version and that's the only source code I have to adjust brightness. I have no idea why it works in such a strange way under Sharp's Qtopia.

Is there anything else in the new Qtopia? You could just disable the lowest setting in the applet, since it's th eonly one causing problems.

Okay, i finally tried connecting to the school wireless network since flashing to 1.22, and.... NOTHING!  The D-link LED blinks, blinks at different rates, blinks, and then gives up.  Nada.  This worked just fine before the flash.  Aaaaargh!

I'm not really sure what would have changed, or been lost, in the flash.  I have the same wireless network settings as i did before.  There is no SSID for the campus network, so i wonder if something changed in the way the new ROM deals with that.  I doubt it, but i don't have any other ideas.

I have used wireless networking at home to connect to the router/AP many times (we have a SSID), as well as to the neighbor's a few times, inadvertently (they don't), so it's something more subtle than just outright breakage.

Anyway, any help would be appreciated.
