Thanks a lot for the beautiful work. Every new Cacko instance has been a step in the right direction, I hope this one follows.
Is there still a plan to offer a "barebones" version of your ROM, or one that would allow you to choose which programs to keep on?
Thanks again, and a Happy New Year to all.
Edit: Can we PM you bug-reports/RFE's?
The new background and icons are *rockin'* I'm testing as much of the unit as I can before taking off for the new year's eve party, but this is impressive so far.
The "4~" bug is gone from QKonsole is gone, that's really good as well.
NetFront 3.1 is also very much appreciated.
Too bad the wireless monitor can't actively scan for nearby AP's. Oh well, next version.
Still can't seem to mount swapfiles with the Mem applet.

Please take advantage of the official package feed at:

http://cacko.biz/cacko/feed

It is already listed in the Package Manager GUI or you can uncomment it in the /etc/ipkg.conf file.  There are about 160 packages that we have with all the necessary dependencies.  All should just work out of the box.

well done to the cacko team! Thank you so much for bringing us the latest ROM!

Though I have one problem with my Buffalo WLI2-CF-S11 card. Don't seem to be recognised by the new ROM.

Apart from that, great job! Love the new icons!

Sssweeeeeet  !

How I would have loved to have this ROM for my 6000L too.
Well the only little thing (at first glance) is that the screen shows gostings on the letters.
I guess I just need to do the
echo >  75 whatever whatever command (need to search up that command now).

Thanks for the New Year gift.

HNY to all  :-)

Hi,

Thanks to the developers and  happy, healthy New Year to all.

I use an Ambicom WL-1100CF wireless card.  In the prior version, I got it to work with the wlan-ng drivers.  I'd like to try the hostap drivers, but my feeble memory is not supplying the names of the files that need editing, etc.  Bringing up the network tool doesn't appear to be enough.  The device does recognize the card:

cardctl ident
Socket 0:
  product info: "AmbiCom", "W1100C 802.11b CF-Card", "2.2"
  manfid: 0xd601, 0x0002
  function: 6 (network)

Any pointers to previous threads, etc. would be appreciated.

Rick

Mea Culpa.

Let's end the year with bad form and answer my own post.

The network app does recognize the AmbiCom wireless card.  For my office network, with a Linksys wireless device, the Config tab needs Network Type set to Infrastructure & Auto-connect needs to be off.

Now, I'm off to stupkid's feed for more fun.

Thanks to all the developers, again.

Yes, thank you!

Now I can't decide what should go on my 700! OZ or cacko 1.22?
I think I'll probably end up with cacko 1.22 -- you can't beat
opera full screen browsing on 640x480!

This card should be supported. Please, check /etc/pcmcia/hostap_cs.conf file, find entry for your card and check if contains correct card info (get it with cardctl ident).

Well, you can but you'll waste all your space. Root partition is only used to store read-only portion of the ROM, the remaining part is used as /home.

Where do you create swapfile? Although RAM is listed, only SD and CF cards are supported ATM...

Hi,
Thank you for the nice new ROM, which is really a step forward!

Nevertheless I have some trouble with BT-profiles, which I did not have with 1.12b: I need two different BT-connections, one for my GPRS-Nokia-Handy, which is a ppp-modem-link and the other for my desktop machine, which is a PAN-connection. I can configure each connection profile ALONE and make it work without any problems. But when I install both profiles, afterwards I can only see the ppp-connection. The PAN-connection appears in the list of the network template, but when I try to start it, I can't see it in the start menu.

Any ideas?
