Cacko ROM sucks ass!

This is by far the worst rom ive seen out of many.  They made suspend even worse than it was on Sharp ROM, wireless is horrible, and there is no Opera or any other browser installed.  But alas, its filled with crappy programs that nobody uses, a cyrillic font support, which I must say is USELESS (even though I'm Russian myself),   after I installed Cacko it formatted SD card (64 mb) and out of 32 + 64 mb I had less than 10 megs left

I hope the guys who made Cacko format their hard drives, quit their day jobs and take a long walk off a short cliff

You know this type of posting from cronx is not helpful at all.  If you don't like a particluar ROM , then post what you don't like about it.  But the rest of the posting is garbage.  There is a huge following for the CACKO Rom, so there must be a lot of people who do like it.  (yes, I am one of them),  if there is something not working, and you have read the faq's and explored a little on this forum another words, done a little fact finding on your own, then please ask for help. There is a a lot of information on these boards.  But degenerating someone else's work isn't appreciated at all.   Most of the time, you are using somthing that someone has done out of a labor of love.  So stop bitching and write your own ROM and/or find a way to help.  I have found there are some very helpful and knowledgable people here. But we all need respect.

I flashed the new Cacko on my C870 today. It looks very nice.

I have few questions here, please help.

1. My Corega wifi card doesn't work. Even i try to install the driver. Any idea?

2. How can I remove the "blue wallpaper" from this ROM?

3. if I do factory reset now, what do you think my C870 will be? Will it return to the original ROM? or else?

1.  Could you insert your card and run the following from the command line:

cardctl ident
lsmod

Then post the output to this forum.  

2.  Changing the Wallpaper in the Settings/Appearance application doesn't work for you?  If you want a different default and changing it with Appearance app is just too easy you could change the link under /opt/QtPalmtop/pics/wallpaper/default.png to point to something else.

3.  A NAND restore will put the Sharp ROM back on your Zaurus exactly as it was.

What if you add an entry like this in your /etc/pcmcia/hostap_cs.conf:

card "Corega WLCFL-11 Wireless Card"
   manfid 0xc00f, 0x0000
   bind "hostap_cs"

Reboot your Z or restart pcmcia:

sudo /etc/rc.d/init.d/pcmcia stop
sudo /etc/rc.d/init.d/pcmcia start

Then insert your CF card.  Does that work?

Interesting, how come that I can read/write email in Russian, read/post to russian web sites, read russian books and write documents in guess what? ... Russian...

Ufortunately, that explains a lot. We're so used to get something for free and not appriciate that at al. Even more - think that everyone in the world is obliged to you...

I do not have any of the Japanese support installed, but the text on [a href=\"http://www.sharp.co.jp]http://www.sharp.co.jp[/url] comes up fine in NetFront.  I only see a problem with Opera....

Try installing the opera-chartable package on the feed. This is the updated chartable from the 1.21 ROM that helped Opera display bi-di fonts.  I just tested this package and it works fine on my Cacko-lite install.  Let me know if you have problems.
