Hi,
QUOTE BerndS: edit /etc/ts.conf and comment (add the #) at the line module_raw corgi, this step was just in case the previous steps haven't worked. I already did that direct after the failed test QUOTE if C+Alt+S works, the keyb is up under X? seems wrong keymap loaded in (.xinitrc) the line test -f uses the reply of the grep Hardware /proc/cpuinfo, try hardcoding it (replace $HARDWARE with one given by ls /etc/X11/kb/) try different options or comment this line. With Akita the keyboard works; /proc/cpuinfo returns "Husky". QUOTE About boot splash, edit /etc/defaults/psplash and remove -a 270 but it will look weird Done (I don't think it looks better with the -a 270) Thanks again Bernd |

Everything went well, and it seems to be working fine. I haven't played with it enough to get more of an impression than that.

Try MPlayer (the Angstrom version or the pdaXrom iwmmxt one will be the fastest).
How's the speed in Fennec? I've only tried Arora and Midori (Arora is faster, BTW). |

I am keen to compile mplayer - but I can't seem to find suitable source - Angstrom is particularily hard to find the source - I can see the git tree but not sure how to get the source.... Currently trying to compile atty's version for pdaxrom. The standard mplayer failed miserably to compile. |

QUOTE Connection Manager
Like network-manager from gnome, you have to comment all lines in /etc/network/interfaces Custom setup: I launch it with a shell script (connman-min) that kills the tray interface after one minute to save memory, the daemon is very lightweight. I use stalonetray as the tray system, if you have a working tray function in your desktop, don't install stalonetray and remove the related lines in connman-min. connman-min.tar has the .stalonetrayrc (put it in /root/ or your home directory) and the connman-min shell script (put it in /usr/bin or any binary folder) anyone using bluez or ethernet willing to test it? i just used with wpa and works Connman is now available in ubuntu repository using dhclient For connman with udhcp support download: https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?s=&...st&p=181822 in Zubuntu Packages thread

(Sorry if you already know this)
MPlayer normally just returns. There's no GUI. Did you try running "mplayer somevideo.mpg" or just "mplayer"? |

MPlayer normally just returns. There's no GUI. Did you try running "mplayer somevideo.mpg" or just "mplayer"? Of course I did both plus mplayer --help, mplayer -h, etc. Same result. I also found out that most players in Jaunty segfault or end up with an illegal instruction, including audacious, totem-xine, etc. Btw, the upgrading way (apt-get update, apt-get upgrade/distupgrade) did not work as it left me with lots of unresolved dependencies and a cyclic dependency in libc6. So I did a fresh install. To make lxde work as before I had to replace icewm by lxde and uninstall the gdm login manager- which did not let me login as root and there had not been created a user account before. Another issue: adduser leaves me with a user account which is not allowed to do networking as ping, nslookup, etc. all return with an error. The new user has to be moved in a certain user group which I am actually not aware of. Besides this jaunty looks to be a bit faster than hardy and being able to test drive fennec is worth the installation effort. Oliver |

hello I installed successfuly mplayer on zubuntu : first, apt-get install gnome-mplayer then apt-get -f install then install lib and mplayer from http://debian-multimedia.org/dists/stable/...age/mplayer.php . It works great ! YES!!! Thank you......great link....now sound works for me and my Z (SL-C3100 "Borzoi" / Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04), too. Until yesterday evening I was not able to hear anything from the internal speaker or the headphone...nothing helped....alsamixer, sound-device and sound-modules....everything seemed to be ok... But now it works: 1.) Download "libartsc0"-Package from Debian-armel-Repos (then install via "dpkg -i <package-name>"). In my case mplayer needs this package and it could not be found in the Debian-Multimedia- or Jaunty-Ports-Repos. 2.) Update the source.list with the Debian-Multimedia-Repos ("deb http://debian-multimedia.org stable main") 3.) Get mencoder and mplayer via "apt-get install <package-name>" 4.) Download and install the "quasar"-package (a very great media player) from this forum. Thanks to jeana for the repacked version! And thanks to evilJazz from katastrophos.net for this great media player! 5.) Check alsamixer or alsamixergui 6.) Unmute everything and set all values to the highest level. While listening to your favourite music, bring back the settings to the right level! ;-) TIP: As long as the master volume is set to 100%, let the internal speaker switched off! Hope, that helps someone else..... cu crash |

Hi! First of all big thanks!
Call me impressed for the fast start-up time alone! Just for the record and the next one trying to get his or her keyboard to work under X: I had to hardcode Akita as xmodmap to get keypresses in my 860 in .xinitrc. /proc/cpuinfo returns Husky, detlef |
