Sharp ROMs / Qtopia 2.1.0 For 5x00 Series

Hi,
You can use qtopia desktop 1.7.0 from trolltech's webpage. I use it on a Win XP SP 2 machine. It syncs quite well.
I hope u can sync it's painful when a pda can not sync...

Thanks for your information. Actually the font pack I was talking was Peter Mikula's font pack.
 

While I was using SHARP ROMS, there were several font packs I have downloaded from ZSI. But when I try to install them, they suffered from qpe-base dependancy

 I was very satisfied with the mico-unicodefonts-verdana_1.5.0-1_arm.ipk, it could show the characters I have mentioned earlier. Can you send me the repackaged form of these fonts or a link that I can download them? Thanks for your help...

Meanwhile I would be glad if you can teach me how I can fish, not just eating fish...

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / How to add new font to OPIE/OZ?

Hi all,
I want to add my poodle some new fonts. Particularly for Turkish (ş,ö,ü,ğ,ç,ı,İ). While I was using SHARP ROMS, there were several font packs I have downloaded from ZSI. But when I try to install them, they suffered from qpe-base dependancy. I have searched the forum; but I could not find the exact answer. Should I use "makeqpf" to form qpf fonts from a TTF? If so, where should I install the *.gpf in the OPIE/OZ filesystem?
Meanwhile there are a lot *-tr-*.ipk packages in the OPIE feed what are they and how can we use them?

and I have soleved the sync problem with Qopia 1.7 but it worke d just one time than began to give error.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / OZ 3.5.1 Opie 1.16 SL 5600 Problems

Hi all,
Thanks for the great OZ and Opie images. They quite satisfy my needs.
But I have some ploblems:
1- I can not sync with my win2K box using IntelliSynch. In the first stage my usbbd did not work; after I have run the script Lardman wrote, usb service began to work(actually I could just ping). But I could not run neither Zaurus File Manager nor  IntelliSync. Is there a tutorial for synching in Opie and/or OZ? Since this the first time I use OZ, I need something like that...
2- I have installed OpieReader-1.1.6 from the feed and the gcc3 compiled one from TimW's site. Both have suffered from "No HTMLfilter found". If I try to open any document except Ascii texts(HTML,mobipocket, CHM), OpieReader does give this error on the screen for every tag. I checked whether there is libHTMLfilter or not and found that there is one .   I think there is something wrong about  paths but I could not solve it.
3- After I have installed XMMs there were no mpeg support and I thought that I should libXine and some plugins, after I have installed libXine1 successfully, I could not  install any plug-in, because they suffered that dependency libXine is not there.

I also miss alot while I try to install, it say qpe-base dependancy lacks. This means that we can not install directly some of our favorite applications.
 By the way have you been able to sync or use file manager cyco jesus?

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / OZ-OPIE 3.5.1 Sync Connection Alert on SL5500

I flashed my SL5500 with OZ-OPIE 3.5.1. I set up "networking" and "security" on my Z so that my Z and my w2k PC can talk to each other and can sync using Intellisync/Outlook via USB. Basically this is working.

How did you achieve this?. Most of the people, including me, could not sync w2k and the ir poodles(SL5600).  I know that you connected SL5500 but I thougt  that  we might catch some points?

I have the same problem.  tried similar things but could not achieve. Although new OZ+OPIE are fabulous, syncing is a great problem. PLease grus solve this problem...

Hi lardman,
Thanks for your immediate bug reports. But I could not sync my poodle with win2k box actually the usbd0 seems down. When I have tried to write down the codes you have given in the terminal (#!bin ....), at the last three lines it is told that te codes are tainted. Can you kindly  give  a more detailed prospectus for the sync procedure of SL-5600 with intellisync or other softwares please?... Thanks.

Software / JustReader and MobiPocket files

Hi all,
Thanks for the opie-reader 0.7f and g, Tim. A lot of my mobipocket files and even some of .chm files are opened. It does a magnificent job. But there are problems in my ssytem. I have  SL-5600  PXA255 with Zynergy ROM. In 0.7f after I have closed uqtreader, the icons of programs opened resides on taskbar evenif they are closed. And usually does not give permission to reopen the programs so Zaurus needs a reset.
In 0.7g after I close the opiereader it does not reopen until  I reset the Zaurus.
I thought to try 0.7c but it does not open the mobipocket files which could be opened by 0.7f and 0.7g.
Meanwhile is it possible to provide a password protected version for our private documents.

I am SL-5600 user and as far as I know there is no pdaXrom for  5xxx zaurii unfortunately... Is there a way to work these packages under QT on 5xxx. By the way,
 how can I fınd X/Qt package. Thanks in advance

Thanks for your work,
Is there a way to port all these things you have made to SL-5600(Sharp Rom or OZ ROM). Or is it trivial (just donload and install, I oe but don't think so). I (and most of the SL-5600 users) would be grateful... As Reaper said linux is great but some programs  dos not exist for her...
