Sharp ROMs / Won't Suspend After Cacko 1.23 Update

I re-flashed and re-installed everything, and now all appears to be OK.  Strange problem, unfortunately I couldn't figure out a fix.

Sharp ROMs / Won't Suspend After Cacko 1.23 Update
« on: November 14, 2005, 08:44:14 pm »
Hopefully someone can help.  I updated my c860 from Cacko 1.22/hotfix to 1.23, flashing and formatting the user files, and reinstalling all my ipks.  Now it won't suspend (turn off) via the suspend icon.  Any way to debug or solve the problem?  It was fine at first, but then stopped responding to the suspend command.  Last thing that I installed was Wellenreiter, if that makes any difference.  It worked at first, but is also not working now.

Windows Issues / Synchronization (as Usual :-( )

Do you have Windows Firewall turned on?
I found that I couldn't connect with it on, but turn it off and could then sync, file transfer, etc.

Software / Ko/pi Error After Reboot
« on: October 13, 2005, 06:40:11 pm »
I'm having a strange problem, after a reboot KO/Pi (v 2.2.0) won't load my calendar file.  It takes a terribly long time to start up (KO/Pi) and then I get an error message saying that it can't load the calendar.  Any ideas?  Tried to import my last backup (ack!  two weeks old) and also to import Last File and it won't do so, KO/Pi closes when I attempt.  I hope I haven't lost all my calendar data...

There's been quite a lot of work from Z before 2.2.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=96254\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Is the latest version 2.2.3?
Which version do I d/l for my 860 running Cacko ROM,
the Sharp Rom version or the Platform Independent ver.?

Thanks!

Sharp ROMs / Cacko 1.22a And Wifi Function
« on: February 17, 2005, 04:28:27 pm »
After upgrading to the latest Cacko ROM, my wifi setup no longer works with the Any function checked; it will only work if I specify SSID.  This is fine if I'm in my network, but when out or traveling, I often don't know the SSID.  Is there a fix for this?  I have tried to get Wellenreiter to work so that I can sniff out the SSID of available networks, but haven't been successful getting that to work either.  Help!!

Accessories / Xigma Case Problem C860
« on: December 09, 2004, 10:44:52 pm »
I dropped my c860 in its beautiful Xigma case, about 2 feet to the carpeted floor, and it hit just right (or wrong) and both of the clips which hold the Z in place sheared right off.
I have sent a couple of emails to Xigma to see if it could be repaired - no response whatsoever.  Any suggestions?  Mighty expensive case to only last a few months and break in such a small incident.

If they won't repair, or give me some sort of a break (no pun) on a replacement, what is a suitable, similar replacement case?

I recall one other person with the same problem.
IIRC he sent it back under warranty.

Peter
I was the one (or one of the ones) with the same problem.
Sent it back to Dynamism, who sent it to Sharp Japan, and
had it repaired.  Turnaround time was right about 4 weeks
total.

Sharp ROMs / Cacko Zaurus Qtopia ROM 1.21 is available!

I installed the Cacko ROM, the hotfix B, it booted once, and I was having the display "banding and ghosting" issue (c860) so I added the following

echo 75 > /proc/driver/w100/fastsysclk

to the /opt/QtPalmtop/qpe.sh script and it hangs on reboot.  After the first Sharp screen I get:

INIT: Entering runlevel: 5

Wait....5 (counts down to 1)
Wait....1
Wait....1
       etc, about 9 times, then:
INIT: ID "ln" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
followed by a blinking cursor (no # sign).

It looks as though adding the line to fix the ghosting to the qpe.sh script causes it to hang, unless I did something wrong?
I reflashed, and it runs, but the banding problem is back.  I don't want to have to run the echo command every time I reboot - anyone have a fix?

Mike
Here's the fix, from Maslovsky:

-----

Install Midnight Commander (available for download at this site), then go to console and type:

    su
    mc -a

Open qpe.sh in MC internal editor and enter the command:

    echo 75 > /proc/driver/w100/fastsysclk

before the line containing "nice survive..." command.

Save the file, then either reboot or terminate Qtopia.

-----

It now boots perfectly, with no banding or ghosting!

Thanks to all!

Sharp ROMs / Display problems with Cacko 1.21

There is a command you need to run which adjust the screen and fixes the problem.

You can also add it to startup scripts so that it is run every time you reboot.
Thanks, Zuber.  I also got a PM from Maslovsky with this.
From konsole, you have to run these commands:

su
echo 75 > /proc/driver/w100/fastsysclk

Now, how do I add it to the  /opt/QtPalmtop/qpe.sh script?
Of course I have to log in as root to edit the qpe.sh file,
then do I just place the "echo...." command anywhere
within the file, and does it need to be preceded with a "#" ?
I'm a Linux newbie..

Mike
