man!  I looked over your list and can't find anything else.  Even though sudo has nothing to do with the emulation, i still preffer the sudo i posted.

the only thing i can suggest is backup everything, and start off fresh with the emulators first.  If it wont launch, you might have some lingering files so you would need to do a nand restore.  NOT AN HDD clear! and start off fresh with installing the emulators first.

Also, could be the screensavers that are not allowing it to run.

Fair enough - I switched SUDO's and it didn't make any difference.

FYI I was using that SUDO as it was the one Meanie recommended - what issues have you had with it?

I will try it again from a completely empty system later on.

Thanks for trying anyway - I might decide to live without genesis emulation if it's going to cause me issues.

the packages i put up in the zip file works on a new sl-3200.  Before posting it on the web, i made sure it ran on a nand restored zaurus making sure everybody can run this thing.  I did make a note very few people do have problems but its related to clashing ipk's but non the less, it works.

Don't get me wrong - I really appreciate your efforts and thanks for trying to help me!

Anyone else reading this thread - I saw a few people with the same issue, did you solve it?

Thanks for all the hard work on the emulators!  Has anyone gotten Super Mario World/Super Mario Allstars or Yoshi's Island to work?

None of the super mario allstars that I have will work but the stand along super mario world does.  I don't think yoshi's island works either.

I have a question about this emulator package.  Everything is running great.  When the screen "scrolls" in games lets say with Mega Man for NES the backgrouds flicker a lot and change color.  It is pretty distracting.  It pretty much happens with any game where the screen scrolls.  If the screen doesnt scroll the issue does not happen.  Is this just a flaw with the C3000 screen or a driver issue????

I do not see any issues with mines.  I'm not eve nsure what causes your issues.  Maybee a fellow c-3000 has a solution.  I do see a very very slight blur with the guter hole very very lightly flickering though.  not annoying to me though.  this is with megama in the first level

Thanks for the info Cresho.  My best example is mega man 2, woodman level.  The green in the trees changes to a different shade and flickers when the screen scrolls.  I can pretty much say the flickering screen happens with all emulators including mame etc.

Again it does run full speed so that isnt the issue.  The C3000 was recieved about 14 days ago and your emulator with the SDL libraries was the first thing installed after cacko 1.23B1.

Also is there any way to increase speed on the snes emu for games like super metriod?

Thanks again!!!

if you have cacko, you may have overclocking capabilities.  Some reported overclocking works fine and improves gameplay but on the c 3100 and c 1000.  I am not sure if you can even overclock your zaurus.

well, at the start of the thread, you have the zip file I provided with all the instructions you need to get snes running in full screen.  You do not use the terminal to launch the games.  You use the zemu exe that is placed in the games tab.  launch the program and then you highlight the zip file and then you launch the program and highlight the snes rom zip file hit enter or double click on it and it launches in full screen.

Now if you want to launch it from terminal, its

snes9x /mnt/card/rom.zip  make sure there are no spaces or capital letters on the zip

-note that the cacko rom images are so different than the ones i provide, you need not use terminal.  Follow the instructions i provided.  It has directions for the snes emulators to work on cacko.  They are very different.

The zip file I provide fixes many issues with gamespeed, keyboard layout, typematic keyrepeater which screws FPS, if you use the terminal, expect some problems.

Cresho, sorry to ask so many questions but its the only way I will learn.
Cacko has the keyhelkper.xml file as well which I tried editing and didnt get a desired result.  I changed the repeater to "000" and the period to "00".  When I rebooted every key I hit on the keyboard caused the key to be inputted into the Zaurus 8 times.  Are they other settings I can use to possibly increase performance and cause they keys to work correctly?
