OpenZaurus 3.5.1 released !!!

Here's a silly question...

from the OzReleaseNotes, it says,
Quote
Sharp SL-5000 and SL-5500

    * use Notepad + <cursor-left> and Notepad + <cursor-right> to switch between console VTs or back to Opie (alternatively use chvt x from the console, where x is the number of the VT to switch to)
Which button are they referring to as Notepad?

WEP works on my 5500 via the GUI.

I've now connected to two different access points both which use wep after adding the key via the encryption tab.

It would be interesting to attempt to replicate the problems I had on the 5600. It may have been down to the DHCP server, although that sounds unlikely.

If you get the chance, give DHCP and WEP a go on the 5500 at the same time... otherwise we could be looking at a poodle specific problem.

Just curious...

I remember reading that one of the main advantages of OE was that the development cycle would be faster.

Is there is a roadmap now for OE/OZ?
Is there an eta on OZ 3.5.2?
When does it stop being OZ 3.5.x and start being OZ 3.6.x?

Unfortunately all of the above makes me sound a little ungrateful for OZ 3.5.1. I am actually really grateful to all of the developers on OE and OZ and OPIE and GPE.

If anyone is able to suggest beginners guides to helping with any of the above, for those who want to help but don't know how to, that'd be fab.

Thanks to all,

Owen

There is a ToDo list for the future release of OZ3.6.

http://www.openembedded.org/oe_wiki/index.php/OzTODO3.6.0

It was last updated on Aug 11.
I imagine now that 3.5.1 is out there can be much more focus on the next stable release.

I've just tested.

WEP + DHCP works fine, I even get the correct DNS information in /etc/resolv.conf from the DHCP server.

So, uhh, any word on GPE for the C series, yet?

I'm about to shake to pieces from anticipation.

I've been running the Poodle image for about a week on my 5600.

By and large, it works wonderfully.

I posted the bugs I found on the release wiki.

Most importantly, I have successfully synced the system using multisync, notes are on the release wiki posted earlier.

We would like to, but we can't. There are problems with the X-Server starting in the wrong rotation and calibration being hosed due to that. It needs more investigating. We can upload a preview gpe image, but it would only be usable for people who would like to help us fixing it.

Still interested in that case?

Have C860, I'd be up for giving it a go. I can't build my own image at the moment as OE seems to grind to a halt after 1100 packages, eat all my swap then segfault :-( This was with 1.5Gig of swap.

How much extra RAM should I be buying, I have 512Meg in the machine.
